5 W hen powering the cam er a ON for the first tim e the ca m era wil l take you through the initia l camera setup. Powering the Camera ON 1) Make sure th e c harged lithium batte ry has be e n inserted properly into your digita l cam e ra. T o charg e the lithium batter y: Insert the battery into the cam era.
6 Setting the Date an d T i me The ne x t ste p in th e initial ca m era se tu p is to set the date and t i m e o n the cam era. Set the Date a nd T i m e as Desir ed and press t he SET b utt on to confirm the sele ct i on a nd m o ve to the next part of the cam era se tup.
7 Main Camer a Modes Y our ca m era h as different modes for the various cam era f unctions. Y ou can switch m odes by p ressing the M ODE button on your cam er a after the cam era ha s been powered ON. Photo Capt u re Mode Use thi s mode to captur e pictures with your cam era .

10 Powering ON/ OFF Your D igital Cam era Make sure the batteries have been inserted pr operly into your d igi t al camera. If your ca m era com es with a r echargeab le lithium battery , make sur e it is full y ch arged bef ore the first use. Make sure an SD card ha s b een inserted into your camera.
11 T o change th e active cam era m o de, make sure the cam er a is powered ON and press the M ODE button on the back of the cam e ra. W hen in Photo Capture Mode, this icon will display on the top -l.
12 Photo Ca pture Mode The Photo Capture m od e allows you to capture pictures with your d i gita l cam era. T akin g a Picture 1) Tu rn on your digita l cam er a. The camera autom ati ca lly op e ns to the Photo Capture Mode. 2) The ca m era icon w ill appear on the top lef t corner of the L CD.

14 Flash Options There are several Flash opt io ns availab l e on your cam era. The o ptions appear on the Photo Capture Mode L CD screen in sequence. T o change th e Flash m ode, p ress the UP Qui ck Function button until you arrive at your des ired settings.

16 Scene Menu The Scene M enu allows you to choose scene settings that allo w your cam era to adapt pr o perly t o your current environment. NOT E: W hen selecting the HIGH SENS ITIVITY Option, by default the camera sw itche s of f the FLASH autom ati cally ( if it‟s ON) t o optim ize th e pi c ture quality .

19 Face Detect Menu The Face Detect feature w he n set to „On‟ allow s the ca m era to use a subj ect‟s face as the basis for balan c ing the othe r colors and focus in the cam era ‟ s displa y . T his feature i s m ean t to ensure that the color and foc us of your pictures w ill b e co ns isten t ly sharp and high -quality .
20 Smile Capture M enu The Sm il e Capture feature when set to „On‟ a llows the ca m era to autom ati ca lly take a p ictu r e w hen i t detects t hat a subject in the picture is smiling. Note: T o proper l y use the Sm i le Capture feature , please ensure the fo ll owing: Macro mode off – Ensu re th a t the Macro is s et to „Off ‟.
21 Macro Menu With the Macro feature y ou can capture im ages at close ra n ge ( 30 ~ 45 cm). T o enable th e M acr o m ode , sele ct „On‟ . The flower ico n will appear on the LCD and i ndicates that the Macro m ode is ON . T o re turn to the norm al m od e and di sable the Macro m ode , sel ect „Off‟ .

31 Thumbnail V iew Easily navigate and select the im age yo u w ish t o view by usi ng the Thumbnail View . The images on your camera w ill be d i splayed in a 3 X 3 m atri x where you ca n use the d irection buttons to scroll and select im ages from the thu m b nail s.
32 Photo Pla y back M ode Menus The following are the m enus that a pp ear in your cam era ‟ s Photo Playb ack Mode: Delet e M enu W hile i n the Playback Mode, you can de l ete pictures from yo ur cam e ra usi ng the De lete m enu. 1) V i ew the photo you would like to delete.

Remember : Al l im ages will be de l eted ex cept i m ages t hat are Protected/Locked. T o del e te a locked image, fir st unlock the image, then select delete.
34 Rotate Menu Use thi s menu to rotate the pictures that you‟v e taken with your camera. 1) Press the SET bu tton to open the m en us for the current m od e. 2) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control bu ttons to scroll and select the Rot ate m enu.

48 The op t ion s in t h e Frequency m enu rep resent the frequency of the electr ical current in flu o rescent lighting sources in your locale. If your cam era i s set to a frequency that does not m atch your countr y‟ s electric current, you m ay see flickeri ng or w aves on the im ag es t aken by your camera.
49 Select “No” to exit without form a tting. Select “Y es” and press the SET button to beg in . The mem o ry card will be com ple te ly fo rm atted . Firmw a re (Factory Defau l t Settings) Menu Use thi s menu to vi ew t he Firm ware versio n on your cam e ra or to reset your cam era se ttings to the Fa ct o ry Defau l t Settings.
50 W hen you first turn on the cam era, the cam e ra w ill be in Photo Capture m od e by defau lt . Press the MODE button twice t o op en the Playback Mode. The Playback Mo de w ill allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve a lr e ady t a ken w ith you cam era.
