Channel II The Silent Mode ™ /trunk release function, is usually controlled by Button II. Silent Mode ™ and Remote V alet ® work by pressing Button II f or less than one second.
5 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Using Y our S ystem Arming Y ou can tur n on, or arm , the system b y pressing Button I of your transmitter f or one second. When the system ar ms, you will hear a short siren sound, or chirp, and see the parking lights flash once.
6 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Arming While Driving Y our system can be ar med while driving the vehicle! Simply press Button I on your tr ansmitter while the vehicle is running. The system will chir p once and then once more to indicate that the ignition is on.

If it does not, you ma y ha ve w aited too long, so tur n the igni- tion off and on and tr y again. Silent Mode TM T o temporar ily turn off the ar m or disar m chirps, use Silent ModeTM.

This feature is useful f or those times when you will be out of the vehicle f or shor t per iods of time and would lik e to leav e the motor running and the climate controls on.
