T o turn y our computer into a commu- nications center , all you need is your Vik ing fax/modem and a standard analog phone line.

W arning: Do not use a PBX or digital phone line. These phone lines ma y damage the Vik ing C omponents USB fax/modem or phone equipment.

If you ar e in an office building , it ma y use digital phone lines. If you are not sure of the type of phone lines your offic e building has, contact your phone system administr ator .

VIKING C OMPONENTS 56K USB MODEM USER’S GUIDE IRQ Settings and DOS Applications The Interrupt Resourc e (IRQ) assigned to the V iking 56K USB modem may not match the interrupt that DOS applications should be configur ed to use. They can be corrected by completing the f ollowing steps: 1.
