13 SETTING THE CONTROLS FOR A UTOM ATIC USE This is ver y easy. All you have to d o is work through th e steps below. The cl ock will work out the rest f or itself . 1 Is th e electr icity sup ply on? 2 Is the cloc k show ing the correct ti me? To adj ust turn the s elector k nob to ‘Man ual’ then to ‘T im e Setting ’.

SELECTING THE GRILL • To operate the grill open the gri ll door, push in and turn th e Top Ov en/Grill c ontro l clock wise so that the re quired s etting is dis pla yed in the win dow .

Brush lea n m eats and fish lightl y with a little oi l or m elted butter to keep them moist dur ing cook ing.
18 USES OF THE TOP OV EN The top oven is the smaller of the t wo ovens. I t is heated by elem ents in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for c ooking on one le vel and for sm all quantities of food. It g ives espec iall y good resu lts if used to c ook fruit c akes , sweet or savo ury fla ns or quic he.

26 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOIL AGE : • Make sure the bottom of the sauc epan and the cook ing area are clean and dry before c ooking begins. • Ensure sauc epans are large en ough to accomm odate food to avoid boi l overs. • If possible, wipe up spi lls and splatter s as they occur, but t ake c are to avoid ste am bur ns.
