A mini mum of one and a maximu m of four ha rd drives may be instal led in the h ard drive cag e. The har d drive instal led in bay o ne contai ns the operati ng sys tem and if removed will render the recorder inop erable.

The i nner rai ls are pre - attach ed to the chassis , and do not inte rfere with nor mal use of the chassi s if you deci de not to use a se rver rack.

31472A B 31 DISPLAY SC REEN Each time the recorder sta rts, the pro gram defaults to the Dis play screen. The foll owing diagram outl ines the buttons and f eatures us ed on the Dis play screen. You s hould be come famili ar with thes e options as this is the screen that will be displayed the maj ority of the time.

36 SETUP OVERV IEW The Setup optio ns all ow you to optimi ze your recorde r by adjusti ng things like camera n ames, restart s chedules , recording s chedules and more. It is extremely important that you setup your recorder co rrectly for s everal reaso ns .

48 Hybrid Sensor S e tup This i nterface is used t o link Hard Co ntact Sensor Inputs f rom supported N etwork Devi ces to the recorder s oft ware. The Network Dev ice List i s a lis t of availabl e IP camera devi ces that have s ensors ena bled.

50 SCHEDULE SE TUP Recording Sc hedule The Recording Schedule win dow allows you to create diffe rent reco rding s chedules based on the day, time, and type of rec ording desired .

52 Scheduling A larm Events There are th ree types of A larm Event s: • ALARM EVENT: Thi s option logs the A larm Events on t he local s erver. • CENTRAL STATI ON: This opti on sends a Map Alarm to S CS. • EMERGENCY AGE NT: This option sends the Al arm Event t o the Emerg ency A gent software.

Thi s window display s the partition s cheme and h ealth st atus of the H a rd Disk Drives in the reco rder. This window is often used to t roublesho ot a recorder, or verify the a mount of H ard Driv e storage instal led.
56 Setting Up DDNS Dynamic Domain Name Sys tem (DDNS) is a service that provides a s tatic address to simpl ify remot e connecti on to the recor der . Thi s service i s most useful for install ations where the WA N (publi c) IP address is dynamic (changes from ti me to time ).

58 User Rank The User Ranki ng structu re allows th e option to as sign a privi lege level to users who access the recorde r remotel y (1 - 10 where on e has the highest p rivilege ).

66 A djus t the Bri ghtness of an Image Select an image t o adjust by double - c licking on the desi red image. Multipl e images cannot be adjuste d at one ti me. 1. Move the Bri ghtness sli de bar to the right or left t o adjust t he bright ness. 2. Reset the B ri ghtness by m oving the s lider back to the center of the bar.
31472A B 67 PERFORM ING A BA SIC S E AR C H There are sev eral different types of s earches tha t can be perf ormed on t he recorder . The most bas ic inv olves sel ecting the date , time, camera, and click ing play. 1. Click the Calendar button t o select a date.
68 SAVE TO JPG OR A VI The recorder can export s ingle image s in a JP G Image file for mat and sav e video c lips i n an AVI format. Both JPG and AV I file for mats are the most comm only us ed graphic al formats to day. Virtu ally ev ery computer offers s ome type of support fo r these fi le formats which make them the mos t ideal formats to use.
31472A B 69 Bookmar ks Use bookmarks to mark a vi deo clip duri ng a search. Ex port book marked data using the Cli p Backup fe ature. 1. P erform a sea rch for the desired vide o. 2. Stop playback at the beginni ng of the desired cli p. 3. Right - clic k the video and s elect S tart Boo kmar k .
70 Clip B ackup Within the Sav e option, Cl ip Backup can also be uti lized to bac kup a singl e camera or multi ple chan nels. The Cli p Backup opti on gives you t he abili ty to choose a backup ti me fra me, choose a s pecific camera or cameras , add memos, and ev en include th e Backu p Viewer if n eeded.
31472A B 71 INDEX S E A RCH Using the Ind ex Search c an greatly d ecrease the amount of time spent se arching th rough saved v ideo. The In dex Search al lows you t o perform a sea rch based on cri teria su ch as Sens or, Motion an d Instant Re cord events.
72 PREVIEW SEA R CH Preview Sea rch can be used i n a nu mber of circums tances to q uickly find an exact mom ent wher e an event, s uch as a thef t, occurr ed. The Preview Sea rch gives a 24 Hour visual overview of a singl e camera by separating a 24 hour peri od (1 day ) into 24 imag es, one i mage for each ho ur of the d ay.
