Shut Down M ode When you turn off the power in Shut Down Mode no data will be saved and the computer will boot to the operating system’s ma in screen the next time it is turned on.

User ’s Manual 4-15 Qosmio G50 Using optical disc drives The full-si ze drive pr ovides high-performanc e execution of CD/D VD-ROM- based programs. Y ou can run either 12 cm (4.72") or 8 cm (3.15" ) CD/DVDs without an adaptor . An A T API inte rfa ce controller is used for CD/DVD-ROM operation.

Gently pull the disc tray out until it is fully opened. 2. The CD/DVD extends slightly over t he sides of the disc tra y so you can grasp it.
4-18 User ’s Manual Qosmio G50 How to rem ove CD/DVD whe n the disc tray will not op en Pressing the eject button will not open the disc tray when the computer power is off. If the power is of f, you can open the disc tray by inserting a slender object (about 15 mm) such as a straightened paper clip into the eject hole near the eject button.

4-22 User ’s Manual Qosmio G50 ■ Since the disc is based on the DVD standard, it might be filled with dummy data if the written data is le ss than about 1GB. Therefore, in these circumstance, even if you writ e only a small amount of data, it might take additional time to fill in th e dummy data.
