6 3-Way Safety System 1 – Automatically switches the kettle off after boiling. 2 – Cuts out for boil-dry production. 3 – Shuts down in case of overheating. 2400 watt concealed element The fast boil 2400 watt element is concealed in the base of the kettle for longer element life.
7 Memo display The electronic cartridge exchange indicator automatically reminds you to replace the filter cartridge every 8 weeks. Hinged locking lid Opens at the push of a button for one-handed use and for safety , locks shut to reduce the chance of accidental scalding.
8 U s i n g y o u r B R I T A K e t t l e Before using your kettle • Remove any packaging or promotional material from the kettle. • Remove the filter cartridge from the filter assembly and keep in a safe place. • Remove the filter assembly , wash in warm, soapy water , rinse and wipe dry .
9 Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate without water , boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling. Cord storage facility Excess cord can be stored by winding the cord around the storage facility underneath the power base.
10 1. Remove the cartridge from its wrapping (it is normal for the cartridge to appear moist during storage). 2. Immerse the cartridge in cold water and agitate gently to remove any air bubbles. See figure 1. Note: There is no need to presoak this cartridge before use.
11 U s i n g t h e M e m o f u n c t i o n It is important to change your filter cartridge regularly to enjoy the benefits of filtered water and keep your kettle scale free. The BRIT A Memo system automatically reminds you when your filter cartridge needs to be changed.
Always disconnect the kettle from the power outlet before cleaning. Never immerse the kettle switch area, cord or power base in water , or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
