10 620-7991 Rev 002 The Star Trac Personal Viewing Screen is different for each of your Star Trac E-Series Ca rdio prod- ucts. Make su re you have the prope r kit for the E-Series produ ct you are installing. The E-UBi, E- RBi, E-TBT i, and the E-STi will follo w the same basic steps for installation.
11 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 4. Remove t he cap cover with th e Star Trac logo from the back co ver p lastics by re moving the (2) screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Retain the screws for later use. You will no longer need the cap cover and, if desired, you can store it away for any possible fu ture use.
12 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 8. Adjust t he cap with the grom met into place. Using the 5mm Hex key, tighten the M8 buttonhead screws to 1 90 lb-in (21 .5 N-m ) of torque . Take the (2) P hillips he ad screws you removed from the original cap an d snugly tighten screws down using a #2 P hillips screwdriver.
13 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 12. insert the new center console into the f ront d is- play. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, screw in the (4) screws that were saved from th e original center console.
14 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 13. Note: If th e iPod c able co mes pre-i nstalled on the cr adle, skip this ste p. Take the iPod® cable f rom the kit. Install t he cable into the iPod ® cradle on the f ront side of the display con sole by rem oving the p lug from the cradle then inse rting the cable through open- ing.
15 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 16. Take the coax ca ble from th e P VS moun t and attach it to the coax ca ble o n the base unit. Tighten the conn ectors snug to each othe r. W ith the changes now co mpleted on the disp lay, it is now time to re-inst all the d isplay console to the base unit.
16 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 20. • Connect the 12 pin se rial cable f rom the base f rame neck to th e 12 pin socket on t he dis- play. • Connect the ground cable f rom the front disp lay heart rate bo ard to one of the terminals on the displa y mount.
17 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 23. Now tha t all t he ca bles are in their places, a nd confined to the post on the display m ount, place the display front plastic onto the b ack. Make sure the bottom of the d isplay f ront is under the 2 tabs on the d isplay mount.
18 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 24. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, secure the front display to the b ack with the (8) screws you pre- viously removed and saved. STEP 25. Now with t he P ersonal Viewing Scre en in stalled on your Star T rac e quipment, it is time to con - nect your enterta inment cable and power to the unit.
19 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 3. (E-TRx ONLY) Note: If you have an E-TR skip this step. Using a #2 P hillips screwdriver, rem ove the screw t hat holds in the blank h eadphone jack cap at the lo wer front of the Hot Bar. Re tain the screw . You will no longer need the cap and, if desired, you can store it away for any possib le future use.
20 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 6. Take the Person al Viewing S creen from the PVS kit. Next, take the (3) M8 buttonhead screws, the M8 Hex nut with washer, and the 5mm Hex key f rom the PVS hardware too l kit. Mount the Personal Viewing Scree n on the treadmill.
21 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 10. (E -TRx ONLY) Take the E-TR headphone jack from the PVS kit. Disassem ble the headphon e jack. Retain the screw an d the board. Take the entertainm ent cen ter console from the PVS Kit. Flip it o ver so you are looking at the back side.
22 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 12. Close the cent er console . Usin g a #2 Ph illips screwdriver, take the screws re tained f rom earlier and screw in the (4) screws from b elow that hold in the center c onsole.
23 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 15. Remove the nut and washer f rom the F-Type connector on the en d of th e coax cab le you fed down the treadmill neck, then put connector through the mountin g bracke t. Re place t he nu t and washe r, and tighten the nut snugly.
24 620-7991 Rev 002 STEP 17. Replace the top bac k plast ic co ver. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver in sert the (8) screws, re- tained from earlier s tep, into the pla stic. Do Not tighten screws at this time. STEP 18. Check the cap with the n eck and grommet.

48 620-7991 Rev 002 Headphone Jack Replacement. W hen you are experiencing poor audio output from your PVS, you should check the entertainment head- phone jack to see if it needs replacement. The headphone jack was designed for an easy and quick replace- ment.
