To prevent this, make sure to take the following precautions when connecting the speakers. Make sure the stripped ends of each speaker cord does not touch another speaker terminal or the stripped end of another speaker cord.

You don’t have to connect playback and recording components directly: once you select a program source on the receiver, you can record and edit as you normally would using the controls on each component.
