18 Recor ding an MD right away! This sect ion expl ains the bas ic procedure for making digi tal recordi ngs using an op tical cable connected to a CD player , Digital TV or other digital eq uipment. F or other re cording oper ations, see “V arious ways of rec ording” (page 23) .

25 Long-time recor ding (MDLP) Sele ct each recor ding mo de acc ording to the recording time that you want. Stereo reco rding is possib le at 2 times (LP2) or 4 times (LP4) the normal (stereo) recording t ime. Monaural recordin g at 2 times normal recording time is also possible.

69 What is a Net MD? Net MD is a stand ard that enables th e transfer of audio data from a computer to a MiniDisc de vice. T o use this Net MD with you r computer requir es a software application called “Son icSt age”.

80 T ransferring audio data from your computer to the Net MD (Check-out) Audi o data stor ed on t he Musi c Drive can be tran sferre d to yo ur N et MD. This process is called “ C heck-out ”. The number of ti mes a track can be checked out is restricte d in this soft ware f or the pr otect ion of copyri ghts (p age 98) .
