20 US 4: Connectin g the antennas Connect the supplied AM loop ante nna and FM wi re ant enna . Before conn ecting the anten n as, be sure to disconn ect the AC power cord (mai ns lead). Notes • T o prevent noise pick up, keep th e AM loop antenn a away fro m the recei ver and o ther compon ents.
21 US Getting Started 5: Prepar ing the re ceiver and the re mote Connect the AC power co rd (mains lead) t o a wall outlet. Before using the receiver for the fi rst time, initialize the rec e iver by p erforming the following pro cedure. This pro cedure can al so be used to return settings yo u have m ade to their factory defa ults.

30 US Adjusting the lev el (LEVEL menu) You can use t he LEVEL menu to adj ust the balance and level of each speaker. T hese settings are appli ed to all sound field s . Select “1 -LEVEL” in the amplifier me nus. For details on adjusting the para m eters, see “Navigatin g through menu s” (page 27) and “Overview of th e menus” (page 28).

39 US T uner Operations Resetting sound fields to the initial settings Be sure to use the bu ttons on the receiver for this operat ion. 1 Press ? / 1 to turn off the receiver . 2 While holding down 2CH, press ? / 1 . “S.F . CLR.” appears on the disp lay and all sound fi elds are reset to their in itial setting.

41 US T uner Operations Presetting radio stations You can prese t up to 30 FM stations and 30 AM stations. Then you can ea sily tune in the station s you ofte n listen to. 1 Pres s TU NER re peated ly t o select the FM or AM band. You can also use INPUT SELECT OR on the receiv er.

44 US Enjoying the DIGIT AL MEDIA PORT (DMPORT) The DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (DMPORT) allows you to enjoy sound fro m a netwo rk system such as a portable au dio source or comput er. When you connec t a DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter (supp lie d), you can en joy sou nd from the con nected compo nent on the receiver.
