EDGE PC Cards ar e standard size type II PC ca rds, they ena ble laptop users to have mobile access to the internet or corporate network with flex ibility and high speed, in cluding ‘always online’ capability via GPRS/ EDGE.
6 Introduction SIM Car d When you subscrib e to a m obile ne twork operato r, you are issued with a SIM card (Subsc riber Identity Module card). The SI M contain s your pers on al s ubscri ber data. You nee d to insert a SIM into your EDGE PC Card before it will wo rk.

Installation 9 Inst allation The Wireless Manager CD -ROM contains the software required t o opera te your EDGE P C Card. The software is simple to set up and operate, but before you begin you will need to m a ke sure th at the serv ices yo u require ar e incl uded on yo ur SIM ca rd s ubscr ipti on.

20 Start Us ing Wi reless Manage r There may be special circums tances where a GP RS dial-u p connection is re quired fo r logon. To create a GPRS dial-up con nection, follow these steps: 1. Create the W indows dial-u p connecti on using the Windows Network Connection Wizard .

22 Create a Connection CSD Connection 9. Select CSD. Select your service pr ovider from the Ch oo se Ne twork drop down list. If your service provider isn’t listed select <Other> or <North America> depend ing on y our locati on. Click Next .

26 Wireles s Man ager Stat us Scr een Connection To connect , cancel or disconn ect a GPRS /EDGE or CS D data sess ion use th e Connect /Disconn ect drop d own menu . The menu di splays all the connections you have defined, so you can quickly select the required connection.
