Do not conne ct the power cord of you r player to the “ switched ” powe r socket of an ampli fier (receiver). Otherwise, when you turn off the power of your amplifier (receiver), the settings for the pl ayer ma y be los t.

32 Playin g Discs Play ing Discs Depending on the DVD or VIDEO CD , some operati ons may be dif ferent or restrict ed. Refer to th e operating in structions sup plied with your disc. 1 Turn on yo ur TV. 2 Switch the input sele ctor on the TV to the player.
33 Playin g Discs To turn off the player Pres s ?/1 on the rem ote. The player enters stan dby mode and the po wer indi cator lig hts up in red. To tur n off the p layer comple tely, press POW ER on th e player. While playing a disc , do no t turn off the player by press ing POWER.
34 z The Instant Replay functio n is useful when you want to review a scen e or dialog that you misse d. z Before l oading th e discs, a DISC SELEC T indicator of an empty compart ment may be li t. • You may not be able to use the Instant Replay functio n with some scenes .
35 Playin g Discs 4 Repla ce the discs in the com partm ents with new ones. 5 Press EXCHANGE . The disc tray c loses. z While th e disc tra y is open, – If the pl ayback of the current dis c ends, the pl ayer stops playing. If the disc is played in ONE DISC Repeat Play mode , the cur rent dis c starts playi ng again.
36 • Depending on where you stopp ed the disc, the player may not resume pl ayback fr om exactly the same poin t. • The poi nt where yo u stopped playing is cleared when: – you turn the power off by press ing POWER on the player. – you change the play mode.
37 Playin g Discs Some DVDs allow you to select the disc contents using a me nu. When you play th ese DVDs, you c an select item s such a s the langua ge for the subtitles an d the lan guage for the sound using th e DVD menu. 1 Press DVD MENU. The DVD menu appea rs on the TV screen.
38 z To play without us ing PBC, press ./> or the number buttons while the player is stopped to select a track, then pres s H or ENTER. “ Play wit hout PBC. ” appears on the TV scr een and t he player star ts continuo us play. You cannot pla y still pictures s uch as a menu.
39 Playin g Discs You can pla y the conten ts of the discs i n the order you want by arr anging the o rder of t he discs, titles, chap ters, or tracks to create your own prog ram. You can pr ogram up to 99 titles, chapters, and tra cks. By selecting ALL DISC S mode, you ca n crea te a prog ram f or all of the discs in th e player.

41 Playin g Discs The number of tit les, chapte rs, or t racks dis played are the same number of tit les, chapt ers, or track s recorded on a disc. You can ha ve the playe r “ shuffle ” discs, titles, ch apters, or tracks and play th em in a random o rder.
42 You can play all discs, or all of the titles or tracks on a disc or a single title, chapter, or track repeat edly. You can use a co mbination of Shuffle or Program Pl ay modes. By sel ecting AL L DISCS mode (p age 38 ), you c an repea t all of the discs in the player.
