29 Shoot ing stil l ima g e s About Aut o Focus When yo u try to shoot a subj ect that is ha rd to focu s on, the AE/AF loc k indica tor wil l change to fla sh in g slowly and th e A E lock beep do es not sound (except in Continuous AF, page 66). The Auto Foc us function m ay be difficult to use with in the f ollowin g subject s.
30 Indicators on the screen during shooting Each ti me you press (scr een st atus), the display c hanges in the followi ng order . • The status of t he screen changes between indicators-on and indicators-off when playing back or s hooting movies. • For a detailed description of the indicators, see page 150.

70 Sh oo ti ng t ec h n i ques Making the best of the flash gives you various options. When you set the flash mode to (Forced flash), you can shoot a back- lit subject brightly . An effect in which the fl ash light reflect s in the subject’ s eye is also avail able.
