18 Inserting batte ries into the remote You can control the player usin g the supp lied remote. In sert two size AA (R6) batteries (n ot suppli ed) by mat ching t he 3 and # ends on the batteries to th e marki n gs insid e the compartme nt. When us ing the rem ote, point it at the r e mote sensor on the playe r.

21 Getting Sta rte d 21 Step 3: Play ing a Di sc A Make sure the power is turned off. Securely connect the monitor unit to the player, and th e headpho nes to the monitor un it.

25 Playing D iscs Playing Disc s Resumi ng Playb ack from the Po int Where You Stoppe d the D isc (Resume Play) When you s top the disc, the pla yer remembers the poin t where you pressed x . As long a s you do not remo ve the di sc, Resume Play works even if the player is turned off.
26 Using t he DVD’s Menu A DVD is divided into long sections o f a picture o r a music fea ture called “titles.” When you play a DVD wh ich cont ains several titles, y ou can select the titl e you want using t he TOP MENU bu tton.
27 Playing D iscs Playi ng VIDEO CDs wi th PBC Fun ction s (PBC P layback) With P BC (P layback Control ) fun ctions, you can enjoy simp le intera cti ve opera tio ns, search func tions, an d ot her opera tions. PBC playback allows you to play VIDEO CDs interactiv ely by fol lowin g the men u on the TV screen.

If the DVD is recorded in mul tiple audio formats (PCM , Dolby Digital, MPEG audio or DTS), you can select t he audio for mat you want while playing the DVD.

If multilingua l subtitles are recorded on the di sc, you can change t he subtitle language wh ile playi ng, and turn it on or off whenever you wan t.
