21 Changi ng t he scr een disp lay Each time you pre ss v (DISP) on the control but ton, the displ ay changes as follows: • If you view images in bright outside light , adjust the brightness of the LCD backlight up. However, the battery power may decrea se faster under such condition.
22 Using th e interna l memory The cam era has appro ximat ely 31 MB of int ernal mem ory. Thi s memory is no t removable . Even wh en ther e is no “Memory Stic k Duo” inserted in th e camer a, you c an rec ord imag es using this in ternal memo ry.

29 Bas ic Op erat ion s Shooting still images (Sce ne Selection) Scene Se lectio n modes The followi ng modes are preset to m atch the scene conditio ns. * Wh en you shoot images using (Twili ght Portrait) , (Twilight) or (Fireworks) mode, the shutter speed becomes slower, and blurring is occur frequently, so use of a tripod is recommended.

31 Bas ic Op erat ion s Shooti ng wit h the man ual ex posure 1 Select M from the mode dial and press z on the contro l button. • [SET] changes to [RETURN] on the lower left of the screen and the camera is set to manual exposure setting mode. 2 Adjust the exposure manually using the control button.
32 Shooti ng with t he m anual ex posure • To select a flash mode, shoot in Macro mode/s elf-timer mode, or change the screen display mode, press z to cancel Manual Exposure Shooting mode ([RETUR N] changes to [SET] on the screen.). • The flash is set to (Flash On ) or (Flas h Off).

It usually takes a second after you press the shutter button. Be also sure not to allow the subject to move during this period.

78 Viewi ng imag es on a TV • Set [COMPONENT] to [HD( 1080i)] in [Main Settings 2] by selecting (Settings ) on the HOME screen (page 68). • When using the camera abroad, it may be necessary to swit ch the video signal output to match that of your TV system (page 69).
