7 SECTION 1 – FAMILIARIZATION 1.1 INTRODUCTION This manual has been prepared for t he operators of Turf Cruiser™ & Trail Cruiser™ uti lity vehicles. Its purpose, aside from recomm ending standard ope rating procedures and routine service requi rements, is to promote SAFETY through the use of accept ed operating practices.

15 SECTION 2 – OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.3 STARTING AND STOPPING ENGI NE Before attempting to start and operate machi ne, perform all steps in the Pre-Start Check List 2.3.1. Starting Engine A. Sit in operator’s seat and latch seat belt. Adjust seat belt to a snug fit.
16 SECTION 2 – OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.5 PARKING MACHINE The park brake has a ratch eting lock mechani sm. When settin g the brake a click ing sound w ill be heard as the mechanism engages and locks the brake. To set and hold the ma chine properly, two or mo re clicks may be required.

18 SECTION 2 – OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2.8 TOWING (Continued) C. To provide adequate braking whe n towing, the cargo bed should be loaded. Load cargo bed to approximately one half (50%) of the towed load – not to exceed 500 lb (227 kg). D. Reduce speed when towing.
19 SECTION 2 – OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The POWERLINK TM On-Board Generat or System will operate continuously at 1000 watts outp ut and up to 1500 watts for brief periods. Operating at loads above 1000 watts may cause the POWERLINK TM system to reset, halting the electrical output.

21 SECTION 3 – MAINTENANCE 3.2.8. Check Interlocks The machine is equipped with interlocks that prev ent the engine from cranking or starting un less the brake is fully depressed and the transmission is in Neutral.
23 SECTION 3 – MAINTENANCE 3 . 4 SERVI CE – EVERY 50 OPERATING HOURS (CONT.) 3.4.3. Check Drive Clutch 1. Start engine and shift transmission to Forward. 2. Release park brake. Clutch should have no tendency to grab or cause motion. 3. Gradually increase engi ne speed with the accelerator pedal.
23 SECTION 4 – ADJUSTMENTS & REPAIRS WARNING DO NOT attempt any adjustments, maintenance, service or repairs with the engine running. STOP engine. Set park brake. Shift transmission to neutral. Remov e key. Remove spark plug wire from spark plug and secure a way from plug.

26 SECTION 4 – ADJUSTMENTS & REPAIRS 4.3.2. Battery Installation IMPORTANT! The orientation of the battery and the routing of the battery cables is very important. Install battery carefully as shown in Figure 4.4. Always install positive (red) cable s using the terminal cover.
