An induction coil located under t he glass ceramic cooking sur face crea tes an alternating electromagne tic field which enters the glass cer amic and induces a thermal current in the base of the sa ucepan.

The duration of operation of each coo king zone depends on the po wer le vel selected (see ta ble). The assumption is that no chang es are made to the settings of t he cooking zone while it is in oper ation.
