AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a A ccessin g the pr oduct Access from the Internet Once connected, the Axis product is accessible on your local net work (LAN). To access the product from the Internet you must con fi gure your network router to allow incoming data traf fi c to the product.

Zoom bar – Use the arrows to zoom in and o ut, or click on a position on the bar to zoom to that position.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A udio An image or text can be superimposed over the image as overlay. See Overlay, on page 18 . Save your settings before they can take effect. H.264 H.264, also known as MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC, is a video compression sta ndard that provides high quality video streams at low bit rates.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A udio IR cut fi lter The IR cut fi lter prevents infrared ( IR) light fro m reaching the image sensor. In poor li ghting conditions, for example at night, or when using an IR lamp, set the I R cut fi lter to Off .
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A udio Noise reduction - Set to On to enable noise reduction. Noise reduction may increase the amount of motion blur. I m a g ef r e e z eo nP T Z- Select All movements to freeze the image while the cam era is moving during a pan, tilt or zoom operation.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A udio The Talk/Listen mode is con fi gured from the Audio tab in the AMC control panel (see AXIS Media Control on page 11 ), Simplex - Network Camera speaker only - Audio is transmitted from the client to the Axis product and played by the speaker connected to the product.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Ev e n t s Gatekeeper The Gatekeeper monitors an area such as an entrance gate. It can pan, tilt and zoom in, and take a snapshot of, for example, a face, triggered by mo vement in the area. The came ra will then auto matically return to the home positio n and continue to overview the monitored area.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Ev e n t s Audio detection The Axis product can be con fi gured to generate an alarm when audio rises a bove, falls below or pas ses the audio alarm level .T h e alarm level can be set in the range 0–100 where 0 is th e most sensitive and 100 the least sensitive.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Re c o rd i n g s Recordings The Axis product can be con fi gured to record video continuously or as a r esult of a triggered or scheduled event: • To start a continuous recording, see page 35 . • To set up trig gered and scheduled events, see Events, on page 28 .

To prevent the dis k from becoming full, it is recommended to enable auto matic disk cleanup under System Options > Storage .
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Re c o rd i n g s To play or downlo ad a continuous recording, follow these steps: 1. Go to Recordings > Continuous . 2. To play or download the recording from a point in time, ente r the year, month, date and the time in hours and minutes in the From fi eld.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options System Options Security Users User access control is enabled by default and can be con fi gured under System Options > Security > Users . An administrator can set up other users by givi ng them user names and passw ords.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options To access a network protected by IEEE 802.1X, devices must auth enticate themselves. The authentication is performed by a third-party entity called an authentication s erver, typically a RADIUS serve r , examples of whic h are FreeRADI US and Microsoft Internet Authentication Service.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options • Synchronize with computer time sets date and time according to the computer’s clock. With this option, date and time are set once and will not be updated automatically. • Synchronize with NTP Server obtains date and time from an NTP server.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options AVHS is enabled by defa ult. The s ettings are con fi gured under System Options > Network > TCP IP > Basic . One-click enabled - Press the product’s control button (see Hardware overview, on page 4 ) to connect to an AVHS service over the Internet.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options Link-Local IPv4 Address Link-Local Address is enabled by default a nd assigns the Axis product an additional IP address which can be used to access the product from other hosts on the same segment on the loca l network.

A multi-connector cable (available f rom Axis) is r equired when connecting e xternal devic es, see Multi-Connector Cable (sold separately), on page 47 .
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options Access Log - Lists all failed attempts to access the product. The Access Log can also be con fi gured to list all connections to the product (see below). Server Report - Provides information about the prod uct status in a popu p window.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a T r oubleshooting Troubleshooting Checking the fi rmware Firmware is softwar e that determines the f unctionality of ne twork devices. One of your fi rst actions when troubleshooting a problem should be to check the curr ent fi rmware version.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a T r oubleshooting ping -s 408 <IP address> In Windows , type the following from a command/DOS prompt: arp -s <IP address> <serial number> temp ping -l 408 -t <IP address> 2. If the product does not reply within a few seconds, res tart it and wait for a reply.
