About this Document This manual is intended for administrators and users of the AXIS M3027–PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera, and is applicable to rmware 5.7 0 and later . It includes instructions for using and managing the product on your network. Previous experience of networking will be of use when using this product.
Safety This product complies with IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 and IEC/EN/UL 60950-22, Safety of Information Technology Equipment. The product shall be grounded either through a shielded network cable (STP) or other appropriate method. Battery Low battery power affects the operation of the RTC, causing it to reset at every power-up.

All cables connecting the product to the network shall be intended for their specic use. Make sure that the network devices are installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Access the Product Set the Root P assword To access the Axis product, you must set the password for the default administrator user root . This is done in the Congure Root P assword dialog, which opens when the product is accessed for the rst time.

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Media Streams The AMC Control P anel can be used to congure various video settings. Please see the AXIS Media Control User’s Manual for more information. The AMC Control P anel is automatically installed on rst use, after which it can be congured.

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Set Up the Product Set Up the Product The Axis product can be congured by users with administrator or operator rights. T o open the product’s Setup pages, click Setup in the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video Overview This is an overview of the entire area under surveillence. Dene the settings for this view from Setup > Video > Video Stream . See Set Up Video Streams on page 16 . P anorama This offers a 180 degree view .
AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video Quad View A quad view is four views on a single screen where each image takes up a quarter of the display area. To dene the settings for this view go to Setup > Video > Video Stream > Quad View .
AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video View areas A view area is a cropped part of the full view . It is treated as a video source in Live View and has its own video stream and PTZ settings. See PTZ (P an Tilt Zoom) on page 28 . T o set up a view area go to Video > View Areas .
AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video • Double P anorama • Quad View H.264 H.264, also known as MPEG-4 P art 1 0/A VC, is a video compression standard that provides high quality video streams at low bit rates. An H.264 video stream consists of different types of frames such as I-frames and P-frames.
AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video For quick setup, use one of the predened stream proles. Each predened prole has a descriptive name, indicating its purpose. If required, the predened stream proles can be modied and new customized stream proles can be created.
AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Video Exposure zones - This setting determines which part of the image is used to calculate the exposure. For most situations, the Auto setting can be used. For particular requirements, select a predened area.

When dening a web link do not remove the 'http://' from the URL address.

Changing the orientation of the camera will also change the position of the Motion Detection Window .

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera Events Events The Event pages allow you to congure the Axis product to perform actions when different events occur . For example, the product can start a recording or send an email notication when motion is detected.

AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera System Options HTTPS HTTPS (HyperT ext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer , or HTTP over SSL) is a web protocol providing encrypted browsing. HTTPS can also be used by users and clients to verify that the correct device is being accessed.
