Correct Usage The Bluetooth ® Hands-Free Kit SBTF 10 A1 is designed for use in v ehicles with a voltage of 12-24 V . The handsfree phone system uses both Bluetooth ® radio tech- nology as well as a digital signal pr ocessor (DSP) to carr y out telephone functions.
Introduction Bluetooth ® is a wireless communication system with a short range. It makes possible wireless connections between Bluetooth ® appliances, such as for e xample mobile telephones, PD A and PCs.

Installing t he hands-free appliance in a vehicle So that the hands-free appliance can function correctly , it is con-nected to the vehicle cigar lighter sock et and pro vided with electr icity from there. • Ensure that the hands-free appliance engages completely and that the operation of the vehicle is not negativ ely influenced.
Switching t he hands-free appliance on and of f Switching on: The appliance is switched of f. • Press and hold the multi-function button 4 for 3 seconds, until a short and high signal tone is heard. The LED status display 6 blinks e ver y 3 seconds.
• T o switch the device off, press and hold the multi-function button 4 for about 3 seconds. A long, low signal tone will be hear d and the LED status display 6 extinguishes. • P osition the hands-free appliance and the mobile telephone so that t hey are not more than 1 metre aw ay from each other .
Coupling the hands-free appliance wit h sev eral mobile telephones Y ou can couple t he hands-free appliance with up to eight mobile telephones. How ever , it can only be connected with one mobiletelephone.
Re-establishing the connection If you w ant to reconnect the hands-free appliance with the last used mobile phone: • Check to see that Bluetooth ® is activated in the mobile telephone, then switch the hands-free appliance on. When connecting to a previously coupled mobile telephone it is not necessary to enter a pass-code.
Note: V oice dialing is only available with mobile telephones that suppor t this function. Further infor mation regarding v oice dialing is to be found in the operating instructions for your mobile telephone. Accepting and ending a call When you r eceive a call the LED status display 6 blinks and you hear a call tone from the hands-free appliance.
Adjusting the volume of the hands-free appliance Y ou can adjust t he volume of the hands-free appliance with the assistance of the volume contr oller 3 .
Cleaning and Care Danger of electrocution! • Before cleaning, alway s separate the electricity supply from the appliance! • NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids! • Do not permit liquids to permeate into the housing! • Never open the housing of the appliance!
