Compliant devices do no t allow users to make copies of protected content and must effectiv ely frustrate attempts to view protected content.

11 CHAPTER 2 Hardware Overview T ransmitter Because of its modular design, the transmitter is able to attach to a wide range of source devices. The media input port is provided as a field-installa bl e module, which allows the product t o support an expanding range of media types as additional mo dules are released.

19 CHAPTER 3 Installation Getting Ready To begin installing your Emerge MPX1000 HD mu ltipoint extenders, do the following : • T ake proper precautions against antistatic dischar ge. • Remove your MPX1000 transmitter, receivers, antennas and media modules from their boxes.

Chapter 3: Installation 29 T ransmitter and Receiver Placement T o find acceptab le locations for your extenders: 1. T urn off all MPX1000 extenders. 2. T urn off your source and display devices. 3. Place the transmitters and r eceivers in their desired locations without firmly mounting the units.

Thus, bidi rectional serial transfers can be exchanged only between the devices connected to the transmitter and primary re ceiver.

40 MPX1 000 Extender Installer/User Guide • The web interface of each unit offers an IR Lo cal Loopback setting. Th is setting affects IR local loopback only . Altering this set ting has no effect upon the flow of IR data across the extension network.

This IR data will be sent to the IR transmit port at each of those receivers.
