34 Timer r ecording Recording Y ou can program the unit to r ecord up to 8 programs, up to a year in advance. Daily or weekly pr ogram recor dings are also a vailable . • Be sure to set the clock befor e making a timer programming. • Inser t a recor dable disc or a videotape with a r ecord tab.

37 Connect the external source pr operly to the unit by using input jacks either LINE 2 (Front) or LINE 1 (Rear). When you r ecord on a videotape, use either the D VD/VCR VIDEO IN jack (Rear) or VIDEO IN jack (Front). S-VIDEO input is useful only in D VD mode .

44 Basic pla yback Pla ying discs Note • For D VD-R (Video mode) and D VD-R W (Video mode) discs which are alr eady final- ized, a title list will be dis- pla yed instead of thumbnails. • Y ou can resume pla y from where y ou stopped pla ying the disc.

Repeat/Random/Pr ogram pla y 54 Note • The A-B Repeat pla yback can only be set within the curr ent title (for D VDs), or curr ent track (for Audio CDs). • T o cancel the repeat pla yback, select OFF at step 2. The repeat setting will also be can- celled when you stop pla yback.
