5 1. Network Scanner Outline By installing the printer/sc anner controller, the machine can be used as a net- work scanner . The network scanner of fers four functions: operating as a ne twork TWAIN scan- ner, opera ting as a network de livery sc anner, s ending e- mail, or storing s can data in the do cument server.
Network Scanner 6 1 Network De livery Scanner The machine is used as the deliv ery scanner with Sc anRouter V2 Lite/ Profes- sional. The original scanned by the machine is stor ed in the delivery server and delivered to the fold er of the computer on the same network.

41 3. Setting Originals This chapter explains the procedure f o r placing the original on the e x posure glass and in the automatic doc ument feeder (ADF), an d setting origi nal scan area and orientation acc o rding to the placement method.
Setting Originals 42 3 Placing the Original on the Exposure Glass Originals which do not fit into the ADF, such as sh eets wi th glued-on parts, books, etc., can be placed di- rectly on the ex posure glass for scan- ning. 89 8. Appendix The Relationship between the Resolution and the Data Size The relationship between the resolution and the data size is mutually contradic- tory. When the resolu tion (dpi) is set t o a high value, the scann ing area becomes smaller. Inversely, when the scanning area is set larger , the resolution becomes lower.
Appendix 90 8 Troubleshooting This section contains advice on wha t to do if you have probl ems scanning an original or if the network d elivery scanner and e-mail function do not work. Appendix 92 8 Cannot select over 3 0 files at the s a me time. To deliver more than 30 stored files, divide the files and per form the operation severa l times. Cannot specify more than 1 00 destinations. When there are 100 or more destinations, split the destinations into 2 or more groups for de- livery.
Troubleshooting 93 8 Memory is full. Cannot scan. Only sending stored files is avail- able. Note ❒ Thes e me ssa ges ar e sh own alte rna tel y. There is not enough fr ee hard disk sp ace. No more files can be stored. Delete unnee ded files. Memory is full.
Appendix 94 8 Selected file is currently in use. Cannot change password. The password of a file that is being edited with DeskTopBinder V2 Lite/Profess ional or that is in a waiting queue cannot be changed. Try the operation again after editing is finished or waiting is cancelled.
