Overview The SA NUPS E1 1A is a stationary-t ype uninterruptibl e power supply desi gned to provide high-quality , stable AC power to critica l equipment that re quires continuous, uninterrupted power . The UPS is compri sed of rectifier , charger , inverter , batter y , and utili ty power transfer (bypass ) circuits.

− 16 − 7. W iring CAUT ION ! ・ Check that input and output p ower plugs ar e firmly seated. D o not exceed the rated capaci ty when connecting load s to the output terminals. Check that plugs and ca rds are fir mly seat ed in the external int erfaces.

− 18 − 8. Preparations Befor e Operation Check the fol lowing items before st arting operation: ① V isually inspect the UPS to verify that t here is no visibl e damage. ② Check that the UPS is connected to a utility power source that meets the input specification s.
− 19 − 9. Operating Procedures 9.1 UPS St artup (Normal Oper ation) Check that the INPUT indicato r has changed from blin king to lit, and then proceed to step ② . ・ The gree n LOADLEVEL 25 to 100% indi cator and the red LOADLEVEL O.L indicato r light according to the load connected to the UPS.
− 20 − 9.2 UPS St artup (Battery Power ) During a power ou tage, low voltage, o r other trouble with the AC input power to the UPS, you can supply power t o the inverter output from the bu ilt-in batteries. ※ Retur n to the Nor mal Operatio n and batter ies are c harged.
− 21 − 9.3 Outage S imulation T est Y ou should perform a tes t of whether the UPS operat es properly during a power outa ge. Proper operati on is as described bel ow .
− 22 − 9.4 UPS Shutdown ( Daily) Note Do not to uch MAIN MCCB when yo u perform a d aily shutdown. Leave it set to the “ON” pos ition. *Note The length o f time to keep held down varies depending on the set ting of item “ ⑨ switch res ponse time” in §10.
− 23 − 10. User Sett ing s 10.1 Setup Menu Item List Y ou can configure t he UPS by sett ing the menu item s in th e following list. Configu re it accordin g to your environ ment and requirements . The con trols and indica tors on the control panel are used to set items in the Se tup menu.
− 24 − Note: Changes to some m enu items do not take effect until you rest art the UPS. These item s are indicated b y (RESTART) in t he "Menu It em" column. If a restart is required, be sure to power off the load devices b efore resetting.
− 25 − T wo be eps s ound f rom th e buzz er . The setting is saved and the UP S returns to n ormal op eratio n. 10.2 Setup Menu Oper ations Set all menu it ems with the following procedure. This example shows how to se t the “UPS operati on mode” ite m to “Economy”.
− 26 − 1 1. Maintenance and Inspecti on 1 1.1 Daily Inspection Check the cont rol panel LED indicators to conf irm that no error is indicated. Remove any dust or dirt adhering to the intake and exhaust vents and fan. No other specia l inspection or main tenance is required.
− 27 − 1 1.4 Battery Maintenance CAUTION ! ・ Interna l maintenance a nd inspe ction should be perfor med only by t e chnical ly qualified p ersonnel. E lectric shoc k, injur y , burning, s moke or file could otherwis e result . ・ Batterie s should be re placed periodical ly .
− 28 − 1 1.5 Battery T est Y ou can pe rform automat ic and manual te sts of the built-in and ex ternally con nected batterie s. Y ou can do this without st opping the load devices conne cted to the UPS. When it is shipped from the fa ctory , the UPS is set up to perfor m an automatic battery test once every 6 m onths.
− 29 − 1 1.6 Battery Exchange Y ou can exchange the ba tteries without stoppi ng the load devices. H owever , this should be done as quickly as possibl e, because the UPS will be unable to pro vide backup power in the event of a power ou tage. When exchangi ng the batteries ,replace the al l batteries.

− 31 − 1 1.7 Bypass Breaker Reset CAUTION ! Always po wer the UPS off befo re resetting the b ypass breaker . Fai lure to do so can cau se elec tric shock . Be car eful to av oid injur y or elec tric shock . If the bypass breaker trips, the red AL ARM indicator lights and out put from the output termin als sto ps.
− 32 − 12. T roubleshooting If a problem occurs , check the condition of the equipm ent and perform countermea sures as listed in the ta ble below . CAUTION ! ・ Interna l maintenance a nd inspe ction should be perf ormed only by technical ly qualified per sonnel.

− 35 − 14. Maintenance Bypass Power Supply (Option) Y ou can combine this UPS wit h an optional Maintenance Bypa ss Unit. In the event of a failure in the UPS, you c an then exchange the UPS after manually switchi ng from bypass power supply to maint enance bypass power supply .
− 36 − 15. Functional Descr iption 15.1 Basic Op eration (1) Normal Operation In normal opera tion, the UP S switches automatica lly * betwee n the three mode s (a) to ( c) depending on t he state of th e power . * The UP S does not swit ch automatical ly when item ① “UPS operation m ode” in § 10.
− 37 − (c) Econom y m ode The UPS switches to Economy mode when the input power vol tage is within a certain range and the out put power fa ctor is above a c ertain value. In Ec onomy mode, the UPS receives power fro m the utility power source and supplies it to the load.
− 38 − 15.2 Protective Functi ons (1) Overload Protection If the UPS output is overl oaded by exceeding t he cur rent capacity of t he inverter , such as when a computer s ystem boots up, the output sel ector switch automati cally switches the source of AC power from the inverter to the b ypass circuit, without interruption.
