7 Playable discs CAUTION: • Only the left types of discs can be played on this unit. DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, SVCD, CVD, VCD, etc. cannot be played. • 8cm discs can be played directly. If an 8cm disc adapter is used it will cause errors. • If you insert an irregular shaped disc, it may get stuck and cause a malfunction.

11 Inserting Batteries 1 23 Operation • Aim the remote control at the remote sensor and press control buttons to operate . • Operate the remote control within a 30 ° angle on either side of the remote sensor , up to a distance of approximately 15 feet.
12 If you are using an indoor or outdoor antenna, follow the instructions below that correspond to your antenna system. If you are using a Cable TV service, see page 13 for Cable TV connections.
13 FOR SUBSCRIBERS TO BASIC CABLE TV SERVICE For basic Cable TV service not requiring a Converter/ Descrambler box, connect the 75 ohm Coaxial Cable directly to the Antenna Jack on the back of the TV/DVD.

15 ANT ABCD 12 TV operation If a channel with no broadcast is selected, the sound will automati- cally be muted. If a station being viewed stops broadcasting, the unit will automati- cally shut itself off after 15 minutes. To turn on the unit, press POWER .
16 SLEEP T o set the unit to tur n off after a preset amount of time, press SLEEP on the remote control. The clock will count up 10 minutes for each press of the SLEEP button (0h00m, 0h10m, ..., 1h50m, 2h00m). After the sleep time is programmed, the display will appear briefly every ten minutes to remind you that the sleep timer is operating.

39 Playback procedure NOTES: • If a non-compatible disc is loaded, “ Incorrect Disc ” , “ Region Code Error ” or “ P arental Error ” will appear on the TV screen according to the type of loaded disc. If these appear , check your disc again (see pages 7 and 54).

To produce MP3/WMA/JPEG-data, you need a Windows-PC with CD-ROM drive and MP3/WMA/JPEG-encoding software (not supplied). The Apple-HFS-System cannot be played. NOTES: • During MP3/WMA/JPEG-Playback, y ou cannot use SEARCH, or A-B Repeat functions.
