C HAPTER T WO : I NST ALLA TION 2 .2 Connecting Cable TV T o connect to a cable TV system, follow the instructions below . Cable without a Ca ble Box 1 Plug the incoming cable into the VHF/UHF antenna terminal on back of the TV . Because this TV is cable-ready , you do not need a cable box to view unscrambled cable channels.

C HAPTER T WO : I NST ALLATION 2 .4 4 Connect a coaxial cable between the ANTENNA OUT ter minal on the cable box and the B–IN terminal on the A/B switch. 5 Connect another cable between the other OUT terminal on the splitter and the A–IN terminal on the RF (A/B) switch.

The r emote control can be used up to about 23 feet fr om the TV . (Assuming typical TV usage, the Batteries last for about one year .

The user must first enter a PIN (personal ID number) befor e any of the V -Chip restrictions can be set up or changed.

4 .14 C HAPTER F OUR : S PECIAL F EATURES How t o Reset the TV after the V -Chip Blocks a Chan nel (“Eme rgen cy Esca pe”) If the TV is tuned to a restricted channel, the V-Chip will block it. The screen will go blank and the following message will appear: “Excessive rating.
