3.2 Sending a fax Sendin g a fax is very simple i f you follo w the instru ctions starting from here. They will describe how to load the document, set the resolution/contrast and dial the number . 3.4 Automatic redial When you send a fax, if the number you have dial led is busy or there is no answer , the machine will att empt to redial the number every t hree minutes up to two times. Before redialling, the display shows T o redial now , p ress Start Fax .

3.6 Receiving in T A M mode (SF-345TP) If you are an SF-345TP user , you have to activa te/deactivate the T AM Mode by pressing the TA M button, not by Rcv .Mode/Dark ness . Once you press TA M to turn T AM Mode on, the machine returns to Standby Mode after play- ing the message back.

4.2 Recording your T A M message The T AM m ess ag e is an outgoing me ss ag e (OG M) which plays w he n ev e r a ca ll co m es in and th e m ac hin e is in T AM Mode. For more information about reception m odes, see "Receiving in T A M mode (SF-345TP)" on page 3.

4.4 Erasing old messages you’ve heard The memory of your machine fills up as messages are recorded. Make room for new messages by erasing old messages that you have already l istened to. If the memory becomes full while recording, your machine beeps a warning and disconnects the line.

C HAPTER 5 A DVANCED F AX In this chapter, you will learn how to use the advanced fax features of your machine. For example, how to send the same documents t o many different locations (B roadcasting) or how to set up your machine to send faxes at a preset time (Delaye d Fax).
5.2 Br oadcasting W ith Broadcasting you can programme your machine to au tomatically scan an d send documents to a num ber of different recipients. The documents are automatical ly erased from memory when Broadcasting is finished. 1 T ur n the document face down and feed it into the machine.

5.4 Polling Polling enables you (or a remote fax machine) to ret rieve a document. This is useful when a person who has a document to be sent is leaving the office. The person wh o wants to re ceive the document at a later time plac es a call to the machine holding the original, and requests that the document be sent.

5.6 Received fax r emote notifcation (SF-345TP only) While you are away from your ho me or office, you can know if there is a new fax or not. Y our machine can send a voice message with a recorded num ber you select when the new fax comes in. 1 Press Menu repeatedly , and press Enter when ADV ANCED F AX appears.

6.2 Inserting a pause W ith some private tel ephone systems, you must dial an access code (9, for exam ple) and listen for a second dial tone before dialling an outside number . In such cases, you need to i nsert a pause in the number when you are registering Auto Dial such as a One-T ouch or Speed Dial number .

Using this feature, you can receive short messages coming from other machines such as faxes, computers, or mobile phones. When you read or print your messages, the font not s upported by your machine appears as bl ank.

If they are dirty , documents sent to another fax machine won’ t be clear . If you turn the power off to clea n th e scanner , documents stor ed in memory will be lost.
