These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed via the two soft keys marked and . Each menu and sub-menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.
24 Call Functions Making a Call Using the Number Keypad When the idle screen is displayed, enter the area code and phone number , and press the key . Note: If y ou have set the Auto redial option ( Menu 4.5 ) to On , the number is redialled automatically up to ten times if the person y ou called does not answer or the line is busy .

Y ou can make another call while y ou have a call in progress if this service is supported by the network. Of these two calls, one is active and the other is on hold and you can switch between the calls.

36 Entering Text At many times while y ou are using your phone, you need to enter text, such as when storing a name in the Phonebook, writing a new message, creating yo ur personal greeting or scheduling events on your calendar .
Entering Text 38 Using Hindi Mode When you input Hindi char acters, you will see the below screen on the phone. Example : Entering a message in New message box To type a character in the Hindi mode: 1. Press a corresponding key to access the Virtual Ke ypad that contains a character y ou want.

48 Phonebook Phonebook offers the following features: • Phonebook : allows you to create, find or manage Phonebook entries, and set up the speed-dialling feature. • Management : allows you to create or remo ve y our own number , set up caller groups and check the memory status.
Phonebook 50 Storing a Number Using the Phonebook Menu 1. In Idle Mode, press the Phonebook soft k ey . 2. Scroll to the Add entry option b y pressing the Up or Down key and press the Select soft k ey . 3. Continue the procedure from Step 1 on page 48 to store the number .
Phonebook 52 Change name This option allows you to change the name of the entry . To clear the old name, press the C key . For more information about how to enter characters, see page 36. Send message This option allows you to send a message to the number .

Call Records 76 Dialled Calls (Menu 2.3) This option lets you view the last 20 dialled numbers. The number , or name if av ailable, displays together with the date and time when the call was made. By pressing the Options soft key , you can also: •d elete the current call record from the list.
Call Records 78 Set max cost : option used to enter the maximum cost that you authorise for your calls; y ou must first enter your PIN2 (see page 131) and then press the Ok soft key .
Sound Settings 80 Messages (Menu 3.2) This option allows you to set up the ringer for incoming messages. The following options are av ailable: Tone : lets you choose from many different tones. Each time you select a tone from the list, the tone is played.
Sound Settings 82 The following options are av ailable: Off : the phone does not beep. On : the phone beeps every minute. Quiet Mode (Menu 3.7) When you hold the key down in Idle Mode, the phone switches to the quiet mode. Y ou can specify whether the phone vibrates or mutes all sounds in the quiet mode.
Phone Settings 84 Display (Menu 4.2) Yo u can change the background image and the colour of the components on the display according to your preference and needs. Wallpaper (Menu 4.2.1) This option allows you to change the background image to be displayed in Idle Mode.

91 Organiser The Organiser feature enables you to: • view the calendar and/or write a memo or to do list. • set the current date and time, and find out what time it is in various cities around the world. • set the alarm so that the phone rings at a specific time.

Press the Select soft key . 4. If applicable depending on the category you selected, enter the event time and press the Ok soft key .
