16 St ep 1: Choose a Location f or Y our Radio When inst alling the Xpres s RC i in your v ehicle, choo se a location wher e it will not block your vision, int erfere with the c ontrols, or ob struct the air bag.

18 V ehicle Inst allation St ep 2: Install the Dash or V ent Mount Depending on your sit uation, you can either choo se to us e the Dash Mount or the V ent Mount. IMPORT ANT! When you inst all the chosen mount, do not at tach the d ock to the mount ye t.

20 V ehicle Inst allation Installing the Vent Mount: 1 Loc ate a vent with horiz ontal louver s stur dy enough to hold y our Po wer Connect V ehicle Dock and radio . 2 If the vent louv ers in y our vehicle are r ecessed, y ou may need t o use the longer vent clamps with the V ent Mount.

22 St ep 3: Mount the Magnetic Mount Antenna The Magnetic Mount An tenna cont ains a str ong magnet which will stick to an y metal part o f your v ehicle, but will not damage the v ehicle. To i nst all the Magn etic Mou nt Ant en na : 1 Choose the bes t location f or your ant enna considering your v ehicle type .
23 SUV : W e rec ommend mounting the antenna at the r ear of the roo f as shown. Con vertible: W e rec ommend mounting the antenna at the le ading edge of the trunk as sho wn. Pickup T ruck: We r ecommend mounting the antenna jus t above the front windshield as sho wn.
24 TIP! Mount the antenna on the roo f (for mo st vehicles ) or trunk (f or con vertibles ) where it has a clear view o f the sky in all directions . 3 Place the ant enna in the location y ou selected. F ollow the Tip s and Cautions sho wn on the next se ver al pages.

27 St ep 4: Rout e the Magnetic Mount Ant enna Cable Bef ore y ou begin routing the ant enna cable , read the se gener al instructions for ho w to r oute and hide the ant enna cable . Then r oute y our antenna cable acc ording t o the instructions which follo w for y our specific type o f vehicle .
28 V ehicle Inst allation Route cable out from under rear windshield moulding and tuck into weatherstripping around trunk opening Pull weatherstripping from trunk opening Tuck cable into weatherstripping.
29 Bring cable out of weatherstripping and into trunk Route cable along trunk wall and into cabin through gap or conduit, along existing wiring harness Route cable along trunk wall and into cabin.
30 V ehicle Inst allation Use a blunt plastic putty knife or similar blunt tool to lift edge of interior trim and tuck cable under trim. Continue towards front of vehicle Route cable from trunk under .
31 TIP! Alwa ys be car eful to include enough slack in your c able to accommodat e open doors or trunk lids. Us e things typically f ound around the home, lik e electrical tape , to secure c ables in areas s o that hinges do not pinch the cable with the door .

Use a blunt plastic putt y knife or similar blunt tool t o lift the rubber molding around the r ear window and tuck the ant enna cable underneath the molding.

35 • SUV: 1. F eed the antenna cable underne ath the rubber weather stripping of the r ear tailgate window / door and route the c able along the re ar hatch. Lift the we ather stripping from the opening and tuck the cable inside it , then replac e the weather stripping.
36 V ehicle Inst allation or contr ols. Secur e the exc ess cable with wir e ties (purchased separ ately ). 4. Bring the end of the cable out at the P ower C onnect V ehicle Dock location. L eave y ourself enough cable so y ou can easily connect it to the ant enna connect or of the dock.

40 St ep 6: Connect the A udio T o play audio thr ough your v ehicle’ s ster eo or FM radio , decide on one of the follo wing audio connection options: • Option 1 : Bes t : Use the Aux In C able if your v ehicle’ s ster eo sy stem has an auxiliary input connection.
41 Option 1: A ux In Cable Inst allation Instructions 1 Plug one end of the Aux In C able into the gr een AUDIO c onnector on the dock. 2 Plug the other end into the auxiliary input jack connection o f your vehicle ’ s ster eo syst em. 3 Insert the dock into the mount.
42 6 Be sur e the vehicle is outside and the antenna has a cle ar view of the sk y . V erify that y ou are rec eiving the XM signal. Ther e should at least be one bar on the upper right corner o f the main display scr een that denotes antenna signal s trength.

An available FM channel is one that’ s not being used by an FM r adio station in your ar ea.
