ER-3 90M Getti ng Started • 1 Getting Started A bout the ER-390M The ER-390 M i s offered in three different versions. • The ER-390M features a flat 90- position keyboa rd with 60 NLU key s. A standard ca pacity of 300 PLUs and 20 Groups allows for easy item manag eme nt.
2 • Gett ing Started ER-390M Unpackin g 1. Unpack and u nwrap the cash register. 2. Located in the packing are the following items: • 1 roll of paper and paper spindle, • 2 sets of control keys, • Operation and Program Manual, 3. Rem ove the cardboard protectors from the cash drawer.

14 • Gett ing Started ER-390M Initial Clear CAUTI ON: Do not share this information with unauthorized users. Distribute the P Mode k ey o nly to those you m ay want to perform this function. The initial clear function allows y ou to exit any register activity and return to a beg inning or cleared state.

16 • Oper ating Instruct ions ER-390M finalizes th e sale, and opens the cash draw er. Change com putation is allow ed by ent ering an am ount before pr essin g th e CHECK key. T he cash drawer w ill open only if the am ount tendered is equal to or greater than th e total am ount of the sale.

Use single item PLU s for speedy one item sales. For exam ple if you are selling admission tickets, and all ticket sales are one item sales, you c an use an o pen or preset PLU.

32 • Oper ating Instruct ions ER-390M Price Level Key If you choose to use the price level feature, you m ust allocate mem ory for each level. See "Memory Allocation" in the "Service Mode Prog ramm ing" chapter. Note that the default program selects on e price level.

Each function is individually program mab le to add or sub tract, from an individ ual item or from a sale total, amou nts ($ values) or percentages.

ER-3 90M Oper ating Inst ruction s • 51 Spli t Tender Split tendering is paying for one transaction by m ore than one p aym ent metho d. For example, a $20.00 sale could be split so $10.00 is paid in cash, and the remaining $10.00 is paid by a check.
52 • Oper ating Instruct ions ER-390M Post Tender Post tendering m eans computing change after the sale has been totaled and the drawer is open. This feature is useful when a custom er changes the am ount of the tender or when a "quick chang e artist" confuses a clerk.

In this way only those with the correct key w ill hav e access to these functi ons. Some register operations may be program med to require the control lock in the X position in order to operate.
