4 5 n Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when per- forming an operation where the cutting tool may con- tact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator. n Know your power tool.

8 9 FEA TURES KNOW YOUR DRILL-DRIVER See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. KEYLESS CHUCK The drill-driver has a keyless chuck that allows you to hand tighten or release drill bit in the chuck jaws.
10 11 ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product has been shipped completely assembled. n Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. n Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
10 11 OPERA TION CHARGING THE BA TTERY P ACK Battery packs for this tool ar e shipped in a low char ge con- dition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should char ge it until the green LED on the front of the charger comes on. NOTE: Batteries will not r each full charge the first time they are charged.

Allow the battery pack to remain in the charger for 15 to 30 minutes. When the battery pack reaches normal voltage range, the red LED should come on.

There- fore, switch should always be locked when not in use or carrying at your side.

16 17 OPERA TION SCREWDRIVING TORQUE ADJUSTMENT (DRIVING POWER OF THE DRILL-DRIVER) See Figure 13. When using the drill-driver for various driving applications, it becomes necessary to increase or decrease the torque in order to help prevent the possibility of damaging screw heads, threads, workpiece, etc.
16 17 OPERA TION Fig. 14 DRILLING See Figure 14. When drilling hard, smooth surfaces, use a center punch to mark the desired hole location. This will prevent the drill bit from slipping off center as the hole is started. However , the lower speed feature allows starting holes without center punching if desired.

18 19 MAINTENANCE BA TTERIES The bat tery pack for this tool is equ ipp ed with nick el- cad mium rechar geable batteries. Length of service from each charging will depend on the type of work you are doing. The batteries in this tool have been designed to provide maximum trouble-fr ee life.
