11 Identification of Control FR ONT P ANEL BA CK P ANEL INST ALLA TION MVDVD2 MOUNTING When choosing a mounting location, the D VD unit should be stable and in a position where sufficient cooling is av ailab le. Before mounting, attach the supplied brac kets and hardw are for top or bottom mount.

13 Remote Control 1 2 Open the cover . Insert batteries (AA siz e). Make sure to match the + and - on the batteries to the mar ks inside the batter y compar tment.
14 WHA T IS MP3? MP3 is an audio compression technology . The name MP3 stands for Mpeg1 A udio lay er 3 and its compression algorithm is based on a com- plicated psycho-acoustic model. This model is based on the fact that the human ear can not hear all the audio frequencies.
15 What is MP3 and VCD? PLA YING IN MP3 FORMA T 1. Inser t an MP3 CD, the D VD video player will initialize the disc and the directory (folder) will be shown on the TV screen. 2. Press to select the folder column or MP3 file col- umn or “PLA Y MODE” from the menu.

17 B ASIC PLA YBA CK Preparations • When you wish to pla y back D VD video discs, or a VIDEO CD , tur n on the TV and select the video input source connected to the D VD video pla yer . • When you wish to enjo y D VD sound from the audio system, tur n on the audio system and select the input source connected to the D VD video pla yer .
18 FOR A HIGHER QU ALITY PICTURE Occasionally , some picture noise, not usually present with a nor mal broadcast ma y appear on the TV screen while pla ying back a D VD video disc. This may occur because the high resolution pictures on these discs include a lot of inf or mation.
19 HO W TO ST OP PLA YBA CK Press the ST OP button. The D VD video pla yer will stop . Press the PLA Y/ENTER button to repla y . Press ST OP again. The D VD video pla yer returns to chapter 1 or track 1. HO W TO REMO VE THE DISC Press and release the OPEN/CLOSE button.
20 PLA YING A T 2X, 4X, 6X, OR 8X THE NORMAL SPEED Y ou can pla y back a disc at 2x, 4x, 6x, or 8x the nor mal speed. Press the REW or FWD button during pla yback. The pla yback speed becomes 2x the normal speed. The pla yback speed changes each time y ou press the REW or FWD but- ton.

23 LOCA TING A TITLE If a D VD video disc contains title numbers, y ou can locate a specific title by directly selecting a title n umber . 1. Press GO T O during playbac k. Make sure that the space ne xt to TITLE is highlighted. Example of a title menu.
24 SWITCHING BETWEEN TWO VIDEO SOURCES The SWITCH button on the remote control is used to s witch between the D VD video player displa y and the e xter nal de vice connected to the A/V inputs on the front panel of the D VD video pla yer . 26 A-B A-B HO W TO REPEA T A SPECIFIC SEGMENT 1. Press the A-B button at the beginning of the segment in which you want to repeat pla ybac k. (point A) 2. Press the A-B button again at the end of the segment. (point B) The D VD video pla yer will automatically return to point A and star t to repeat pla yback of the selected segment (A-B).
27 ZOOMING A PICTURE Y ou can z oom a picture. Y ou can shift the zoom point as well. Zooming a Picture ZOOM X 2 ZOOM X 4 Press ZOOM during normal playbac k or slow - motion. The D VD video play er magnifies in the center of the picture. If you press during zoom pla yback, the z oom point shifts.
