17 T ensioning Belt 1. Ap ply tension to b elt by tur ning belt tension handle countercl ockwi se until belt deflects approximatel y 1/2 inc h by thumb p ressure at its cent er . 2. T ighten belt tension lo ck handles. NOTE: Over tensionin g bel t may ca use motor no t to start o r dama ge bearing s.
18 Assembly (continue d) 4. Unlock support loc k and raise table so its about tw o (2) inches below tip of chuck. 5. T urn chuck sle eve clockwise an d open jaws in chuck completely . 6. Place a piece of wood on table. T urn feed handles counterclock wise and force chuck again st table until chuck is secu re.
19 Installing Light Bulb W ARNING: T o reduce the risk of electric al sho ck, unplug the tool before install ing ligh t bulb. 1. Re move the amber co lored lens cover by remo ving the two Phill ips screw s. 2. Install a light bulb (not larger than 60 watt) into the socket inside the head.
20 Assembly (continue d) Converting From Right Hand Operation to Left Ha nd Operation The drill pre ss is shipped from the factory with f eed handl es set-up for right hand operat ion. How ever , if de sired, th e dril l pres s feed handle s can be co nverted to left hand opera tion.
21 7. Remove the 4mm s ocket he ad ca p screw fro m the left side of the dr ill pres s and instal l in the same po sition on the right side of the dril l press. T ight en screw . 8. Remove the 6mm stop pin scre w from the right si de of the dri ll press an d install in the lef t side of the dri ll press as sho wn.
