4 ! WARNING Only ResMed air tubing should be used with y our flow generator. A differ ent type of air tu bing may alter the pr essure you actually receive and reduc e the effectiveness of your trea tment. Do no t use conductive or anti-static hoses or tubes.
5 Starting T reatment English To assist you in adjusting the device, th e keypad and LCD are eq uipped with a backl ight. The LCD backlight comes on when the device is turned on or when you press a key, and turns off after two minutes. The LCD backlight may be set to be on continual ly.
6 3 Lie down and arrange the air tubing so that it is fre e to move if you turn in your sleep. ! CAUTION Do not leave long len gths of air tubing around the top of your bed.
7 Starting T reatment English Using the Mask-Fit Feature This device includes a mask-fit fea ture to help you fit your mask properly. If a Ramp time is selected, the mask can be adjusted at a pressure closer to the prescri bed pressure. To use the mask-fit feature: 1 Fit your mask a s described in the u ser instructions.

10 Patient Options Menu The Patient Options menu allows you to set th e local time, date and language and to test and change the al arm volume. SmartStart ™ (SmrtStr tStp) OFF If SmartStart is enabled, the device will start a utomatically when you breathe into the mask and will stop automatically when you take your mask off (SmartStop).
11 The Alarms English The Alarms This device i s fitted with alarms to alert you to change s that will affect yo ur treatment. Alarm Mute Key You can mute an alarm by pressing the Alar m Mut e key once. Pressing this key a second time will un-mute the alarm.

14 Servicing This product (VPAP III ST -A with QuickNav) should be inspe cted by an authorised ResMed service centre five years from the date of manufacture. Prior to this, the d evice is intended to provide safe and reliable operation prov ided that it is operate d and maintained in accordance with the instructi ons provided by Res Med.
15 T roubleshooting English Inverter or UPS The power specifications for an i nverter or a UPS are listed in the following ta ble.
