RC A easy R ip™ Media S oftware, lets you import music files from C Ds and other sources, organiz e your music library, and transfer unpr otected MP3 and WMA files to and from this play er .
10 C onnecting to the computer Player U S B port of your computer • C onnect the player to y our P C as shown. • The pla yer will turn on automatically and display "U S B connected" on the display .
11 Before y ou begin using your RC A Player , you ’ll want to copy your music to the pla yer . Y ou can use any of the following methods to transf er content: • RC A easy R ip • Drag and drop fi.
12 Deleting files from the play er Y ou may delete any files transf erred to the player . 1. C onnect the player to y our computer . 2. Open the player in Windows E xplorer and then navigate t o the folder containing the files. 3. S elec t the files you want to remo ve and then press the Delete key on the keyboar d of your P C .
13 General controls T urning the player on and off T o turn the player on, slide / to the right. S lide to the right again to turn the player off . Locking the player contr ols T o lock the player controls to pr event them from being activated accidentally , slide / to the left.
14 Using the menus Menu types The player has two menu types: Player menu The player menu appears when y ou turn on the player or if you pr ess and hold while listening to the player .
15 The Home menu The top-level or “Home ” menu is always display ed when you press and hold . T he menu options are: Now Playing Available only during pla yback. Press or to return to the currently pla ying file. Music Press or to enter the Music menu and choose an artist, album, genre or individual title.
16 Settings Press or to enter the S ettings menu, which lets you: • C hoose the shuffle playback mode • C hoose a repeat playback mode • C hoose an equalizer setting • C hoose the screensaver .
17 Music Music playback contr ols S kips to the previous file*; press and hold to scan backward S kips to the next file, press and hold to scan forward S tarts/pauses playback S hows/ hides the Option menu Increases or decreases the volume during playback + or – Playing music files The player sorts your music files by artist, album and genre.
18 Option menu (navigating music files) Press when navigating through music files to show the Option menu . Press + or – to highlight an option and then press to confirm the selection or change the setting.
19 Audiobooks Audiobook playback c ontrols S kips to previous file or section; press and hold to scan backward within a file S kips to the next file or sec tion, press and hold to scan forward within .
20 S kipping through audiobook sections If the currently playing audiobook contains sections, you can choose to skip forward and back between sections when you press or , instead of skipping bet ween files. T o choose section-by-section skipping: 1. Press to display the Option menu.
21 V oice Memo R ecording v oice memo Y ou can record v oice and play back recor dings as well as copy the rec ordings ( W A V files) to your P C . T o record v oice: 1. Press and hold to display the Home menu. 2. Press + or – t o select Voic e Memo and press or to enter the voice memo menu .
22 Fa v o r i t e s C reating a "F avorit es" playlist Y ou can create a playlist of your fa vorite music by adding new files to the pla ylist as you listen to them. This function is not available for other media f ormats such as audiobooks and recordings.
23 C hanging the play er ’ s settings T o change the player settings: 1. Press and hold to display the Home menu. 2. Press + or – t o select Settings and press or to enter the settings menu. 3. Press + or – t o select a setting and then press to change it.
24 Pr ofiling • P erforms sor ting to all music files. "P rofiling... " will be displayed until the sorting finishes. S ystem I nfo • Display s the amount of free space available and the firm ware version. R estore defaults • R esets all menus to factory defaults.
