10 Preparation ˆ Prepar ation You can power yo ur scanner fro m any of three sources : • internal batteri es (not su pplied) • standard AC power (u sing an o ptional AC adapter ) • vehicl e bat.

Before you install alkaline or any other non- rechargeable batt eries, use a pointed obje ct such as a ballpoint pen to set ALKALINE JACK NI- CD inside the compartmen t t o ALKALINE . 19 About Your Scanner A LOOK AT THE KEYPAD Key Functio n(s) HOL D ( A/B) Switches the bank groups; holds the fre - quency search; h olds the current ID in the trunking mode. SCAN Sc ans the stored channels and scan lists. MAN Stops sc anning and lets you d irectly enter a channel number or frequency; manually stores talk group IDs in scan lists.
