6 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X II. SAFETY Maximum seating weight. Place unit on level ground and stand to one side when changing from drive mode to freewheel mode or freewheel mode to drive mode. Locked and in drive mode. Unlocked and in freewheel mode.

Do not use a cell phone, walkie/talkie, laptop, or other radio transmitter while operating. Avoid exposure to rain, snow, ice, sa lt, or standi ng water whenever possible.
8 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X II. SAFETY Do not allow unsupervised children to pl ay near the sc ooter while the batteries are charging. Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the sa me time.

When drivi ng down an incline, do so by setting the speed adjustment dial to the slowest setting and driving in the forward direction onl y.

See figures 1 and 2. This shifts the center of gravity of you and your scooter toward the front of the scooter for improved stability.
13 Celebrity X www.pr idemobility.com OUTDOOR DRIVING SURFACES Your scooter is designed to provide optimum st ability under normal driving conditions—dry, level sur- faces composed of concrete or as phalt. However, Pride recognizes that there will be times when you will encounter other surface types.
14 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X INCLEMENT WEATHER PRECAUTIONS Exposure of your scooter to inclement weather conditions should be avoided whenever possible. If sud- denly caught up in rain, snow, severe cold or heat while operating your scooter, proc eed to shelter at the earliest opportunity.

If you are in the doorway of an elevator when th e door(s) begin to close, push on the rubber door edge or allow the rubber door edge to contac t the scooter and the door will reopen.
16 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X II. SAFETY MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSPORT Pride recommends that you do not remain seated in y our scooter while traveling in a motor vehicle. The scooter should be stowed in the trunk of a car or in the back of a truck or va n with batteries removed and properly secured.

19 Celebrity X www.pr idemobility.com III. YOUR SCOOTER TILLER CONSOLE The tiller console houses all of the controls needed to drive your scooter, including the sp eed adjustment dial, throttle control lever, battery condition meter, li ghts switch, status LED, a nd horn buttons.
20 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X III. YOUR SCOOTER Lights Switch This switch controls your scooter’s lights. Toggle the switch forward to turn on your sc ooter’s front top li ght and running lights. Toggle the switch to the middle to turn off the scooter’s lights.

24 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X CHARGING YOUR BATTERIES PROHIBITED! Never use an extension cord to plug in your battery charger. Plug the charger directly into a properly wired stan dard electrical outlet. PROHIBITED! Removal of the grounding prong can create an electrical hazard.

26 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING How often must I ch arge the batteries? Two major factors must be consid ered when deciding how often to charge your scooter’s batteries: All day scooter use on a daily basis. Infrequent or sporadic scooter use.
27 Celebrity X www.pr idemobility.com How do I change a battery in my scooter? MANDATORY! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.
28 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X Follow these steps to properly break in your scooter’s new batteries for maximum efficiency and service life: 1. Fully recharge any new battery prior to its initial use. This charging cycle brings the battery up to about 88% of its peak performance level.

See IV. “Batteries and Charging.” Is the manual freewheel le ver in the drive (rearwar d) position? Neve r leave the manual freewheel lever pushed forward unless you are ma nually pushing your scooter.
30 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X V. OPERATION NOTE: Your scooter’s reverse speed is slower than that of the forwar d speed yo u preset with the speed adjustment dial. GETTING OFF YOUR SCOOTER 1. Bring your scooter to a complete stop. 2. Remove the key from the key switch.
31 Celebrity X www.pr idemobility.com TILLER ANGLE ADJUSTM ENT WARNING! Remove the key from the key switch before adjusting the tiller or the seat. Never attempt to adjust the tiller or the seat while the scooter is in motion. Your scooter is equipped with an adjustable pivoting tiller.

38 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X What if my scooter does not move wh en I engage the throttle control lever? When the manual freewheel lever is pushed forward, the br akes are disengaged a nd all power to the motor/transaxle assembly is cut.

40 www.pridemobility.com Celebrity X IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE WHEEL REPLACEMENT If your scooter is equipped with pneumatic tires and you have a flat ti re, you can have th e tube replaced. If your scooter is equipped with a solid tire insert, either the solid insert or the entir e wheel must be replaced depending on th e model.
