page 2 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Thank you f or purchasing the Precor EFX ® 546. Built to the e xacting standards of the health club environment, the EFX is intended f or commercial use and can withstand the rigors of daily club use with little maintenance.
page 3 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should alwa ys be follo wed, including the f ollowing: • Read all instructions before using the EFX546. These instructions were written to ensure your saf ety and to pr otect the unit.
page 4 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The EFX546 must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, g round- ing provides a path of least resistance f or electric current which reduces the risk of electrical shock. The EFX546 is equipped with a pow er cord having an equip- ment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.

page 11 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Y ou do not need any special knowledge or e xperience to set up the EFX. How- e v er , you will need assistance . Because of the size and weight of the EFX, it is recommended that at least three adult persons assemble it.

Secure the lower handrails. Diag ram 7, #2. Use the supplied hex k ey to tighten the 4 set screws , located on each lo wer handrail stub .

page 19 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION SETTING A WORKOUT TIME LIMIT Y ou can limit how long a user works out by setting a dur ation between 1 and 240 minutes. The EFX also lets y ou choose “no limit” which allows the user to select a course and work out indefinitely .
page 20 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Press Enter once again and the Error Log appears. Press the ▼ or ▲ k e y to view the error messages. T o retur n to the Precor banner , press Enter or Reset . Note : T o clear (delete) the error log, press Quick Start f or at least 4 seconds while viewing the list.

On the EFX, if y ou star t in a position with one f oot f orward and one f oot back, a stride is completed when y ou mov e the rear f oot all the wa y f orward while the f orward f oot mo ves to the rear .
