Chapter 1 Assembling the Climber Thank you for choosing Pr ecor. For proper installation, please read this guide thoroughly and fol low the assembly instructions. If you do not assemble the climber according to these guidelines, you could void the Precor Limited Warranty.

U sing a ¹₂ - inch b ox wrench or open - end wrench, tighten the four fastene rs in alternating order until all four are ful ly secured.
Assembling the Climb er 19 12. Slide the rubber grommet onto the plastic top cover, as shown in the following illu stration. Apply pressure to s nap it into place.
20 Assembling an d Maintaining the 8 35 Climber Attaching the Handra ils Use the following procedu re to install the external handrails on the climber. To attac h the handra ils: 1. Slide a lower han drail boot onto each handrail. Figure 8 : Adding the handrail boot 2.
Assembling the Climb er 21 3. Secure the lower handrails using four buttonhead screws and a ⁵₃₂ - inch hex key. Fully tighten the fasteners. 4. Using a ¹₂ - inch soc ket wrench, tighten the t wo nuts beneath the upper handrail clamp unti l the handrails cannot be pulled out of t he clamp.
22 Assembling an d Maintaining the 8 35 Climber 8. Clean the foot steps, p lasti c covers and upright supp ort with a soft cloth or wipe m oistened with an approp riate cleaning solution. For mo re information about which cleaners to use, refer to Daily Cle aning .
Chapter 2 Installing the Console To make installation easier, all Precor Experience Series consoles use the same mo unting hardware and connect or locations whenever possib le.
24 Assembling and Main taining the 83 5 Climber 3. Rest the console on the c onsole mount so that the no tch on the bottom of the cons ole ’ s back pla te rests on the rectangular hook at the bottom of the console mount , as shown in the following fi gure.
Installing the Con sole 25 Connecting Cables (P30) After the console has been seated, separate the individual cables out of the end of th e cable assembly and atta ch them to the appropriate circuit c onnectors ins ide the console. Refer to the following diagram a nd table to identify the cables and connectors.
26 Assembling an d Maintaining the 8 35 Climber Completing the Consol e Installation Before you complete the f inal installation steps, doub le - check the connections you have made. Make sure that a ll cables are fully and securely connecte d, and that any unneeded cables are tied back properly.
Chapter 3 Maintenanc e To keep t he equipment functi oning properly, perform the minor maintenance tasks in t his section at the int ervals shown on the maintenanc e checklist. Failure to main tain the equipment as described in this section could void the Precor Limited War ranty.

Maintenance 29 Moving the Equipment The equipment is very heavy. If you plan to move it to a new location, obtain the help of an adult assistant and use prope r lifting techniques. If the eq uipment includes roller wh eels on one end, use the wheels to reduce the load on you rself and your assistant.

Chapter 4 Self - Po w er ed F eatur es Impo rtan t : This chapter of t he manual describes Precor fitness equipment that can operate without being connec ted to AC power. This includes units equippe d with P40 or P20 con soles. H owever, P8 0 consoles must be con nected to AC power through their power supplies to oper ate.
32 Assembling and Maintain ing the 835 Clim ber Informational Displays Prior to Shutdown The equipment saves its battery charge by moving into a shutdown mode. If the use r does not maintain the mi nimum rate of moti on, a 30 - secon d shutdown process begins.
Self - Powered Featu res 33 Using the Opti onal Power Adapte r After connecting the powe r adapter to the equipment , plug the opposite end into the a ppr opriat e powe r sou rce ( 120 V o r 240 V). CAUTION: When the o ptional power adap ter is in u se, mak e sure that the power supply cord d oes n ot create a s afety haz ard.
