27 Blade S election Using t he proper blade f or the job will incr eas e the oper ating ef fi ciency of your band saw, help reduce nec essary saw mai ntenance, and im pr o v e your pr oduc t iv ity. Thus, i t is im portant t o f o ll ow cer tai n guideli nes w hen select ing a saw blade.
28 Set The t er m “set” r ef ers to the way i n whic h t he saw teet h are bent or posi tioned. B ending the teet h creat es a kerf that i s w i der t han the back of the blade. This helps t he operat or m ore easil y p iv ot a workpiec e through cur v e cuts, and dec reases fr iction bet ween blade an d workpi ece on str aight cuts .
