The cascaded Master Views that co nnect back to the First Stage unit are considered Second Stage units.

For exam ple, you can: rapidly switch to any port; scan selected ports only; limit the list you wish to view; designate a port as a Quick Vi ew Port; create or edit a port name; or make OSD setting adjustments.

4. OSD Operation 29 F4 ADM F4 is an administrator only fun ction. It allows the administrator to configure and control the overall operation of th e OSD. To change a setting doubl e click it; or use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to move the highligh t bar to it then press [Enter] .

Setting Functio n EDIT PORT NAMES T o help remember which computer is attached to a particular port, every port can be given a name. This function allo ws the administrator to create, modify , or delete port names.

4. OSD Operation 33 F8 LOUT LOUT (Log out) logs you out of OSD cont rol of the co mputers, and blanks the Console screen. After using this function you must log in all over again to regain access to the OSD.

35 Chapter 5 Hotkey Operation The CS-1754 / CS-175 8 's hotkey function m akes it convenient to control your KVM installation from the keyb oard . Note: The hotkey function must be enabled to use ho tkey op erations. See HOTKEY COMMAND MODE , page 28, for details.
CS-1754 / CS-1758 User Manual 36 Hotkey Port Access Hotkey Port Access allows you to sel ect which computer has the KVM focus. The CS-1754 / CS-1758 provides the follow ing Hotkey Port Access features.
5. Hotkey Operation 37 While you are in Auto Scan Mode, you can pause the scanning in order to keep the focus on a particular computer by pressing P , or with a Left Click of the mouse. During the time that Auto Scanning is paused, the Command Line displays: Auto Scan: Paused.

43 Chapter 7 The Firmware Upgrade Utility The Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Uti lit y (FWUpg rade.exe) provides a smooth, automated process for u pgrading the KVM swit ch's firmware. New firmware upgrad e packages are posted on our web site as new firmware revisions become available.
