The TL7600 is an expansion headset (up to two headset s can be used with the same headset base).

11 Getting started Headset base install ation No lifter mode or lift er mode There ar e two answer modes available on the headset base. The current mode is indicat ed by two lights on the front of the headset base named NO LIFTER MODE and LIFTER MODE .
12 Getting started Bat t ery installation Install the batt ery as shown below. Aft er installing the battery , you may be able t o make and rec eive short calls. For optimal performance, char ge the headset battery for at l east six hours befor e use.

22 Operation Headset oper ation Making a call Using the headset base as a st and-alone pr oduct (installation option 2): In order to mak e calls, you need to hav e a telephone which is alr eady plugged into the same telephone line or a dial pad (TL7601, sold separatel y).

24 Operation Headset oper ation Ending a call on the headset When the headset base is plugged into the tel ephone wall jack (installation option 1 or 2): Press ON/OFF on the headset or place the headset in the headset base.
25 Operation Headset oper ation T emporary ring tone sil encing Press MUTE/ FLASH to t emporarily silenc e the ring tone in the headset earpiece. This silenc es the ring tone without disconnecting the call. The ne xt incoming call rings normally at the pr eset volume.
26 Operation Options while on calls V olume contr ol T o adjust the listening volume: While on a call, press the V OL UME + – keys on the side of the headset to adjust the listening volume. T o adjust the speaking volume: While on a call, press the V OL UME keys on the side of the headset base to adjust the speaking volume.
27 Operation Options while on calls Swit ching a call between handset and headset When the headset base is plugged into the tel ephone wall jack (installation option 1 or 2): T o switch fr om the corded handset t o a headset while on a call, press ON/OFF on the headset, then place the cor ded handset back into the telephone base.
28 Operation Options while on calls Multipl e headset/handset use Headset(s) and handset(s) on the same phone line can join an external call in pr ogress. The number of headset(s) and handset(s) that can join may be limited by your t elephone system. See your telephone user’s manual for mor e information.
29 Operation Headset alert tones Three quick beeps. V O L UM E + – keys ar e pressed when the volume is already at its highest or lowest setting. The headset is not regist ered and the headset ON/OFF button was pressed. The headset is out of range from the headset base during a call.
30 Operation ON/OFF light status On Headset is charging in the headset base. Headset is trying to r egister to the headset base. Headset may be too f ar from the headset base.
31 Operation Headset base light status NO LIFTER MODE On when NO LIFTER MODE is selected (def ault mode). Flashes quickly when there is an incoming call. Flashes when the headset is in use or another telephone is in use on the same line. • • • LIFTER MODE On when LIFTER MODE is selected.
32 Registration and de-r egistration Adding and r egistering headset Y our TL7610/7611 can accommodat e up to two cor dless headsets. Y ou can add a new headset (TL7600, sold separately) to the headset base at any time. Each new headset must be register ed with the headset base befor e use (see page 34).

34 Registration and de-r egistration R eplacing a headset Y ou may need to de-r egister y our headsets if: Y ou have two r egistered headset s and need to replace one of them. -OR- Y ou wish to change the designat ed headset number and/or the color of the ON/OFF light of your r egistered headset s.

37 Maintenance and T roubleshooting My headset doesn’t work at all. • Make sure the power cor d is securely plugged in. • Make sure the batt ery connector is secur ely plugged into the cor dless headset. • Make sure the tel ephone line cord is securely and firml y plugged into the headset base and the telephone wall jack.
38 Maintenance and T roubleshooting If you are using the handset lift er , LIFTER MODE must be selected on the headset base (page 11). See the TL7000 handset lifter manual for instructions on set ting the LIFTER AUDIO AD JUS T .
39 Maintenance and T roubleshooting Y our telephone ma y experience interfer ence from the headset. T o overc ome this problem, mov e the headset base at least 12 inches away fr om the telephone. Other electronic pr oducts can cause interfer ence to your c ordless headset.
40 Maintenance and T roubleshooting • First try all the suggestions above. • Make sure you hav e a dial tone befor e dialing. The cordl ess headset may take a second or two to find the headset base and produce a dial t one. This is normal. Wait an e xtra second bef ore dialing.
41 Maintenance and T roubleshooting I want to use my headset with a different headset base. • You need t o de-register (see page 34) the headset from the curr ent headset base and then regist er (see page 33) it to the new headset base. My cordl ess headset isn’t performing normally .
42 Maintenance and T roubleshooting The batteries do not hold a charge. • Make sure that the headset batt ery is installed and secur ely plugged into the connector .

44 Maintenance and T roubleshooting I hear other calls while using my headset. • Disconnect the headset base from the telephone jack, and plug in a differ ent telephone. If you still hear other calls, the problem is pr obably in your building’s wiring or local service.
45 Maintenance and T roubleshooting • Test a working phone at the phone jack. If another phone has the same problem, the problem is the phone jack, wiring or service. Contact your local t elephone company (charges ma y apply). • Other electronic products can cause interfer ence with your cor dless headset.

47 Maintenance and T roubleshooting The ON/OFF light on the headset is off while charging. • Make sure the power and line cor ds are plugged in correctl y and securely . Make sur e that the battery connect or is securely plugged int o the cordless headset.
48 Maintenance and T roubleshooting Common cure for electr onic equipment. If the unit does not seem to be responding normally , try putting the cor dless headset in its base. If it does not seem to r espond, do the following (in the or der listed): • Disconnect the power to the headset base.
