Op t ion 4 (C op y D a t a ) ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Y ou can create a fiel d that uses data from another fi eld. This is useful for crea ting merged fie lds or sub-fiel ds.
Copies d ata from field #3, starting at th e first positi on and copying th ree characters. In th e destination fi eld, the info rmatio n is pl aced i n posit ion 1 and copied as fo rmatt ed data. M e r g in g F ie ld s Y ou can copy data to m erge the contents of field s.
Op t ion 30 (P a d d in g D a t a ) ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Y ou can add characte rs to one side o f a field to "pa d" the fiel d. P adding a llows you to fill in the remai ning spaces w hen the entered data does not fill an entire field .
Op t ion 31 (C a lcu la t e C h e ck D ig it ) –––––––––––––––––––––––––––– The printer generates a check digit if you apply Option 31 to the field. Y ou cannot use th is option if the fi eld contains a UPC, EAN , Code 39 (with th e MOD43 che ck digit), Max icode, or POS TNET bar code.
Op t ion 42 (P rice F ie ld ) –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Y ou can ap ply options th at will insert mone tary symbols automati cally . Do not use this option with Option 31 (define a check digit) or Option 60 (incremen t or decrement a field).
Op t ion 50 (Ba r C od e D e n s it y)––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Y ou can apply this opti on to bar code field s when you want to create custom densitie s. When you ap ply this op tion, it overr ides t he de nsity val ue in the ba r cod e fiel d.
Op t ion 51 (P D F417 S e cu rit y/ T r u n ca t ion ) ––––––––––––––––––––––– Y ou can define a se curity level and choose w hether or not to truncate a P DF417 bar code. Hi gher security le vels add data to a bar cod e, improving scan reliabi lity .
Op t ion 52 (P D F417 W id t h / L e n g t h ) –––––––––––––––––––––––––––– This o ption defin es the ima ge width or length of a PDF417 bar code. If you defi ne a fixed numb er of colum ns (width), the b ar code expands in length.
Op t ion 60 (In cre m e n t in g / D e cre m e n t in g F ie ld s) –––––––––––––––––– Y ou may h ave an ap plicatio n, such a s seri al numb ers, in w hich you need a n umeric field to increme nt (increase in val ue) or decrement (decre ase in val ue) on succe ssive tickets wit hin a single batch .

Usin g C h e ck D ig it s ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Check digits are typ ically used to en sure that a text or bar code field sca ns correctly . If you apply Option 3 1, the printer calcul ates a check dig it.
Exampl e {A,1,A,R,10,5,P,"65432" p } Adds check digit sch eme number 1 to the printer’s mem ory . The mod ulus is 10, the maximum nu mber of character s in the field is 5. Th e check digit is calcul ated by using the Sum of Products an d the string of dig its used in the calcul ation is "654 32.
4. Divide the su m of the products by the m odulus ( 10 in this case), only to the whole num ber . The balance i s called the rema inder . 9 10 98 90 8 5. Subtract the rem ainder from the m odulus. The resul t becomes the ch eck digit. In thi s case, the check digit is 2 .
3. Next, the di gits of the pr oducts are add ed together . T wo-digit pro ducts are treated as two s eparate di gits. This is the sum of the dig its. 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 44 4. Divide the su m of the digi ts by the modulus ( 10 in th is case), only to the whole num ber .
