12 SIM and bat tery SIM and battery Fittin g and rem oving the SIM You insert the SIM into the back of the phone, underneath the battery. If your SIM contains contact details, the firs t time that you br owse your contacts list after fitting a new SIM, you are asked whether you want to transfer the SIM data to your phone.
13 SIM an d ba ttery SIM and ba ttery Charging the batter y The battery must be fitted in the phone before you connect the charger. Press the button on the top of the connector and insert it into the bas e of the phone. Connect the charger to t he mains power supply.

You can use t he automatic internati onal access code (+) , to dial intern ational numbers without knowing the code for th e international exchange.

33 Voice calls Voice call s Adding people You can add people to the multi-party call (up to a maximum of five), either by making a call or accepting an incoming call. You can then merge the new call into the multi-party. Press Q . Select Merge .
34 Voice calls Voice cal ls Using th e notepa d During a call you can enter numbers that you ma y want to dial when you have finished the call. You can make a note of these num bers on the notepad. Enter the num ber. When you have fini shed your call, p ress D to di al the num ber.
35 Text entry Text entry You use alphanumeric ch aracters to enter de tails into the Contacts List , to create text and e-mail messages . There are five different text entry modes: normal ( AB C or abc ), Greek ( V ), ext ended alphabet ( W ), numbers ( X ) and T9 ® ( T9 ).
36 Text entry Text en try T9 ® Using T9 ® reduces the number of key presses required. When in T9 ® mode: Press a key once for any letter you require on th at key. The desired letter may not be displayed. Continue pressing other keys until the end of a word is reached.

38 Settings Settings Use the Settings m enu to personalise your phone. Display Setting the wallpaper The wallpaper is a picture that d isplays when the ph one is in idle mode. Select Wallpaper . Select your pictur e. If your pictur e is not i n the fo lder press B then select a nother folder.

53 Settings Settings Menu > Settings > Security Security Setting and cancelling the phone lock When the phone lock is set you can only use the phone to receive incoming calls and to make emergency calls. Select Phone Lock > On/Off > On .
54 Settings Settings Menu > Settings > Security Setting and cancelling c all bar Call barring restricts certain types of incoming and/or outgoing calls, using a password provided by your service provider. When you check the status of the Call Bar, your phone must be registered with a network.
55 Settings Settings Menu > Settings > Security Enabling and disabling PIN and PIN2 The PIN protects your phone against unauthorised use. If you enable the PIN, you have to enter it every ti me you t urn on the pho ne. You need PIN2 to set fixed dial numbers.

When you enable fixed dial: z You can only dial numbers that are in the f ixed dial store z If you manually dial a number, it must match one in the fixed dial store.
57 Settings Settings Menu > Settings > Defaults Search mode You can set the Search Mode to Automat ic or Man ual . When the Search Mode is Manual , the phone only uses the selected network. If coverage is lost, you need to select another network.
58 Contacts list Contacts list Use the Contacts List menu to store a person’s phone numbers, e-mail addresses, company name, pi cture and other informatio n. You can also set up how your contacts list is organised and displayed. Brows e This menu only applies to contact s stored on your phone.

If you have one game listed then y ou have downloadable games and should follow the in structions in the Downloadable gam es section.

69 Browser Browser Use the Browser menu to access I nternet services supported by the network, such as n ews, weather reports and s port. Server l ist Before you can access the Internet, your SIM mu st be data enabled and the configuration information must be entered.

75 Camera Camera Taking a self- portrait You can take a s elf-portrait using the shutter butt on on the side of the phon e. Ensure that th e phone is i n camera mode. Close the phon e. View the image in the se lf-portra it mirror. Press the shutter button on the side of the phone.

JPEG Normal produces a f ile which is acceptable for most uses. JPEG Fine an d PNG produce large files with high resolution.

79 Camera Camera Capture mode With Capture Mode you can cho ose from: Sing le Sho t takes a single picture. Multi Shot captures images at 1 second intervals while you hold Q down, to a maxim um of six images. Self Tim er delays the taking of an image.
80 Messagin g Messaging From the Messaging menu you can send and receive MMS, SMS and e- mail messages . The nine menus are as follows: MMS MMS st ands for Multimedia M essage S ervice.
