18 Loading the Recor ding P aper P aper Specifications In general, mos t bond papers wil l produce e xcel lent resul ts. Mo st photoc op y pap ers will als o work ver y well. There a re many "name " and "gener ic" brands of p aper a vailable.

24 Setting the Dialing Method (T one or Pulse) Y our m achine can operate with either of two dia ling me thods ( T on e or Pul se), de pending on the ty pe of t elephone line you are c onnected to. If you need to cha nge the dia ling meth od to T one o r Pulse, follo w the proc edure bel ow .
25 Adjusting the V ol ume Y ou c an adjus t the monit or and ringe r volume on your ma chine. The built-in spea k e r enables you to hea r the dia l tone, dialing signals, an d busy tone.
26 User P arameter s Y our facsimile machin e has sev eral basic settin gs (Us er P ar ameters) to help you keep recor ds of the docu ments you send or receiv e. F o r e xample , the b uilt-in cloc k keep s the cur rent dat e and time , and your LOGO and ID Number help to i dentif y y ou when you send or re ceive documents.

31 PROGRAMMING YOU R MACHINE One-T ouch/Abbre viated Dialing Numbers Entering One-T ouch/Abbrev iated Dialing Numbers One-T ouc h and Abbrev i ated Diali ng are two f ast ways of dialing full tele phone numbers. T o use these dia ling methods, you must firs t store th e telephon e number using the following procedu re.
