Preparation 21 Handset menu icons When in standby mode, pressing { ME NU } (middle soft key) on the handset reveals the main menu. From here you can access various features and settings. Preparation 23 Setting the unit before use Important: L T o program features by scrolling through the display menus, see page 40. Date and time Set the correct date and time. W hen you play back a message from the answering system (page 54), the u nit announces the day and time it was re corded.

Caller ID Service 36 Using Caller ID service This unit is Caller ID compatible. T o use Caller ID features, you must subscribe to Caller ID servic e of your telephone service provider . Caller I D features When an outside call is being receive d, the calling party’ s telephone number is displayed.
