Preparation 23 Setting the unit before use Important: L T o program features by scrolling through the display menus, see page 40. Date and time Set the correct date and time. W hen you play back a message from the answering system (page 54), the u nit announces the day and time it was re corded.
Making/Answering Calls 24 Making calls Using the handset 1 Lift the handset and dial the phone number. L T o correct a digit, press { CLEAR } . 2 Press {C} or { CALL } . 3 When you finish talking, press { OFF } or place the handset on the base unit or charger.

Caller ID Service 36 Using Caller ID service This unit is Caller ID compatible. T o use Caller ID features, you must subscribe to Caller ID servic e of your telephone service provider . Caller I D features When an outside call is being receive d, the calling party’ s telephone number is displayed.
