Programming 25 Special instructions for programmable settings Night mode Night mode allows you to select a sp an of time during which the handset w ill not ring for outside calls. This feature is useful for instances wh en you do not want to be disturbed, for example, while sleeping.
Programming 26 Note: L T o s top the alarm, press any dial key or place the handset on the base unit or charger . L When the handset is in use, the alarm will not sound unt il the handset is in standby mode. L If you selec t “ Once ” , the setting changes to “ Off ” after the alarm sounds.

Answer ing System 30 Answering system The answering system can answer and record calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone. Y ou can also set the unit to play a greeting message but not to record caller messages. Select “ Greeting only ” as the recording time setting (page 35).

Answer ing System 32 Listening to messages using the handset When new m essages have been recorded: – “ New message ” is displayed. – The message indicator on the handset flashes slowly if the m essage alert feature is turned on (page 35).
Answering System 33 Remote operation Using a touch-tone phone, you can call your phone number from outside and access the unit to listen to messages or change answering system set tings. The unit’s voice guidance prompts you t o press certain dial keys to perform diff erent operations.

Af ter you subscribe to this service, your service provider/telephone company’s voice mail system answers calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy .
