10 Touch screen When the touchscreen becomes dirty , wipe it with an approved soft cloth The to uchscr een is s peciall y treated to preve nt dirt fr om adher ing to th e surface, s o dirt c an be rem oved e asily usi ng a dry cloth (use onl y the appr oved s oft cloth).
11 Touch screen Do not apply excessive force to the touchscreen Do no t lift the com puter while h oldin g the LCD screen, or allow th e screen to be twis ted. Do not place any obje cts on the LCD sc reen. Any of the abo ve may c ause the touchsc reen glass to break, or may dam age the LCD screen .

14 Sleep or Hiber nation Functions The sleep *1 or hi bernatio n funct ions allow y ou to shu t off the com puter with out clos ing prog rams and doc uments. Y o u can quickly r eturn to the progr ams and documents tha t you were workin g on be fore sleep *1 or hibernat ion.

19 Saving Power Y ou can ex tend batter y life a nd save powe r also d uring AC ada ptor usa ge. Use the me thods b elow to r educe powe r consu mption . Change [Power Options] Click (S tart) - [Control Panel ] - [System and Security] - [P ower Options] to select [Power saver].
20 Saving Power T o confirm c urrent s ettin gs, click (S tart ) - [All P rograms ] - [Pan asonic] - [Pow er Savi ng Utilit y] - [Advanced] to view [Wired LAN standby powe r savi ng functi on] or [Wi reless L AN standby po wer sav ing function ].
21 Saving Power Disable this func tion for work that requires subtle i mage an d color nua nces or in vide o editing using video ed iting app lica - tions. Wired LAN st andby power saving function Enablin g this fun ction dis ables the Wake Up from wired LAN fun ction to sav e power in s tandby/hibernatio n.

23 Security Measures Use these features to protect y our data. Anothe r secu rity mea sure • Embed ded Se curity (TP M) ( pa ge 97 ): For further information, refer to the Installation Manua l of “T rusted Platform Module ( TPM)”. Set the Su pervis or Passwo rd before s etting the User Pas sword.
24 Security Measures Y ou can se t a start-up password to protect your co mputer fr om un authorized use. 1 Set th e p assword ( pag e 2 3 ), and select [Enabled] i n [Password On Boot] and/or [Pa ss- word On Resum e] in the [S ecurity] menu of the Set up Utility ( pag e 9 7 ).
25 Battery Power Battery in dicator: *1 In high t emperature mode , the 100% bat tery leve l is equi valent to 80% level of the normal tempera ture mode. NOTE Once the battery is fully charge d, the com puter per forms r echarg ing only when th e battery level b ecome s less than appr oximate ly 95% , so ov erch argi ng is av oided.

35 Multimedia Po cket 2 Slide the latch (A) and ope n the cover . 3 Pres s the rel ease h andl e (B). The re lease ha ndle pops out . 4 Pull the release handle (B) to draw out the device p artway , and hold the device on it s both sides to remove.

40 SD Memory Card This compute r supports SDHC Memo ry Cards (SD Me mory Cards with a capacity more than 2 GB ). When you us e a miniSD Card or a microSD Car d, set the card to a m iniSD Card adaptor or a micro SD Card adap tor , and insert/ remove t he card with the ada ptor .

46 Port Replicator / Car Mounter Y ou can use an optional por t replicato r and a car mounter . T hese dev ices free yo u from being bothered by a lot o f cable c onnectio ns when y ou carry the co mputer . Th ey also allow you to conne ct various per ipherals .
