Op tima 45 - 3 1 3 VENTING - RESTRICTOR PL ACEMENT NOTE: Vent restrictors are designed to reduce vertical stack action fo r vent terminations which will reduce the velocity of inco mi ng co m bustion air and not adversely affect the standing pilot or the efficiency of the appliance.
Op tima 45 - 3 1 4 VENTING CHART The appliance will not functi on without bei ng connected to a pr oper venting system. This appliance may only use direct vent s ystem supplied by Arc hgar d, or Simpson Dura- Vent direct vent systems with Archgard SDK-3 adapter.

Check termination head area after every snow fall, and clear i f necessary to prevent blockage.

Op tima 45 - 3 2 3 LOG PLACEMEN T Archgard chooses ceramic fi ber logs for use in the Optima 45-3. The log s are designed to give a realistic fire package, a nd are created for long li fe, to give you the same beauti ful look as the day they were originally installed.

Op tima 45 - 3 2 8 FRONT VIEW The Optima 45-3 comes with a set of Ceramic Brick Panels. They are factory-installed for y our c onvenience, therefore no adjustments should be made. If you find any damage to the Cera mic Brick Panels please contact your Authorized Archgard Dealer to order repl acements.
Op tima 45 - 3 2 9 If a wall- m ounted switc h or a wall-mounted thermostat is desired, Ar chgard recommends that the device be wired as shown in Fig 1. Note : Arc hgard Industries does not manufacture or sell any wall switch or wall ther most at a nd will not extend warranty to them .
Op tima 45 - 3 3 0 INITIAL OPER ATION 1. Check that the appliance is properly ve nted and connected to the gas supply . 2. Check that the logs an d branches are properly placed. 3. Check that all external parts, su ch as grills, do or and faceplate are pr operly attached and fastened.

Op tima 45 - 3 3 2 1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting and turn the remote switch to “ OF F ”. 2. Turn off all electric pow er to the applia nce if service is to be performed. 3. Open low er louvers or access door. 4. Press slightly and turn control knob cloc k w ise 3 to “ OF F ”.

Op tima 45 - 3 3 4 TROUBLESHOOTING SYMPTOM AC T IO N Pilot will not light after pressing the sparker many times . 1. W hen lighting the appliance for the f irst time after installation or after servicing, there is air in the gas line. It takes a while for all the air to purge out o f the pilot before gas can reach the pilot and ignite.

Op tima 45 - 3 3 6 Regularly: • Frequent cleaning of the cera m ic glass is requ ired. Archgard recommends using a good quality “gas fireplace” glass cleaner that is available at any hearth retail location.

Contact the Authorized Ar chgard dealer where y ou purchased t he appliance and provide them with details of the proble m together with the initial installation information (from the back of this m anual).
Op tima 45 - 3 3 8 ADJUSTING PRIM ARY AIR 1. Remove the glass door. Follow GLASS DOOR REMOVAL instructions within this manual. 2. Locate & slide the Prim ary Air Sleeve fully toward the left . This will allow the sleeve to disconnect from the burner tube.
